This is a huge systemic issue to take advantage of interns and associate level folx doing the same work cause they are cheaper. This is seen in private practice hospitals and other settings. Wish I had an answer other than find the best option for you in your area!
So I actually did this and looking back it looks like burnout. I worked overnight at the suicide hotline Sunday night(Monday) to Friday AM. Interned 9a-5p M-F. Then slept a few hours and repeat. It was rough and I definitely fell asleep a lot during my job. A friend of mine did similar where he worked overnight at Whole Foods stocking while interning in the day time.
I worked as an ABA therapist at $22/hour. Not great, but lots of flexibility with scheduling. It wasn’t easy, but I worked 32-35/wk, was enrolled in grad school, and had 2 internships. My day would start at 7:30am shadowing a kiddo at school, heading to my internship around 2pm, then getting to school around 6:30pm until 9:30pm. My schedule was like a puzzle. ABA allowed me to work weekends too.
Been there, done that. Second what others say. I would try to find a place that would allow part time work while letting you complete required internship hours.
My MA program didn’t allow us to work while enrolled. I had to live on student loans and it was rough. I had to take out larger loans than my educate required. Even now, unless you work private practice, you don’t usually make enough to live and pay loans.
I was able to work as an MST therapist with my CT license. It’s been 7 years ago, but I was salaried at $33k in Ohio. It was the only way I could’ve finished my MA. I was a single mother at the time.
I’m interviewing for a TPM role at Google and wondering if anyone has any tips or suggestions? This is my first phone interview with the hiring manager. Thank you, appreciate it!

It's hard. Is there a private practice you can work and complete the hours at the same time?

Homeless shelters typically have part time shifts as well.
