How does anyone manage blemishes? Looking for products at Sephora to manage

Invest in an appointment with a dermatologist to get an assessment of your personal situation. Acne is a medical condition, so the visit should be covered by your insurance.

Everyone’s skin is different and I think it’s worth it to get a professional opinion to get you started. A good derm should be able to help you narrow down what’s causing your blemishes (hormones, diet, genetics) etc. and recommend appropriate products to treat them. Some may be prescription and some may be over the counter. I’ve even found a lot of drugstore products recommended by my derm to be just as effective as dropping lots of cash at Sephora.

That being said, I’m a huge fan of retinol as well. Definitely the most effective product I’ve used. You can buy some retinoids over the counter, but you’ll need a doctor to write you a script for the good stuff.

Murad has an anti blemish gel to be used at night that I like. I’ll be honest though - nothing beat home remedies and eating well, sleeping well etc.

Depending on what kind it is, the hydrocolloid pimple patches. Really great for pimples near the surface; not great for deep cystic acne. I use the cosrx patches.

Your average blemish - have found the Eradikate product pretty useful for spot treatments. Use a cleanser with some salicylic acid

Niacinimides are great. Also, benzoyl peroxide worked wonders for me. I don’t use it much anymore but always use an SPF!

Agree with acc1. The ordinary had one at Sephora for cheap it’s worth trying.

I actually use a skinceuticals blemish treatment for breakouts and it’s great. Luckily my 35 year old skin isn’t as crazy as it used to be.

What kind of blemish? Certain ingredients may work better than others. Also what is your skin type?

Prescription retinoids from a derm and lots of lotion (oil free) oily skin is often dehydrated and lacking moisture so it produces more oil. I also get some rosacea and I use aloe gel on it to calm it down. Lastly, don’t use hot water to wash your face, it is inflammatory and drink lots of water!

Anyone else use work as their escape? People complain about not having work life balance but I only stay for the long hours. I've battled with depression and anxiety for the last decade because I got married and started a family too young. I'm in a more financially secure place now but my marriage has mentally exhausted me. We're just together for the kids at this point.

Has anyone else had a really hard time online dating with Covid? I’m aware things are getting better but I prefer to do outdoor first dates to be on the safe side. No judgement to anyone that does differently. It’s just what I feel comfortable with. I’ve had a few guys tell me they won’t do outdoor dates for some reason… some have cited weather but others legit say no (in 70 weather) because it’s a hassle & “Covid is a joke.” Please tell me if this is normal.

Hi everyone! I am in a weird situation right now that I haven’t been in before and could really use some advice especially from women who might have faced or seen something similar. Long story short, I was brought into my current firm and promised that the work I want to do is within the team/solution they recruited me for and aligned me with in the system. However, once I started working on the project, it became very clear that I’m in the wrong team and on the wrong project (continued below)

Hi ladies! An old chestnut but would still love to hear your advice: i am fairly certain a key senior stakeholder is being difficult because he perceives me as a senior non white woman trying to boss him around. I have heard that he doesn’t like to surround himself with people cleverer than him in fear of them taking over his job, which to me further confirms this is a possibility. What can/should I do? TIA!
