Can anyone refer me to a management consulting firm in LA? Im 1 year out of Berkeley with 1 year of project management experience. Please and thank you. I will buy you lunch or dinner or both
Do you often have to relocate between client sites and other locations? Any tips on refocusing after you switch spots?
My client got F'ed over by one of their employees failing to disclose some things to the SEC I caught it brought it to the clients attention now I'm stuck doing diligence on over 100 employees. I keep catching things. I feel like I'm creating more issues for the clients but at the same time I'm protecting the firm as a whole which they're thankful for. Do I have anything to worry about by finding all these problems?
Seeking advice of fellow consultants & seniors here. I am currently working on an Internal Project for 50% chargeability. I have spent over 3 months and found it to be very demanding, with absolutely no value addition for me. I am depressed each day with the thought of working at it. Should I walk out of the internal project? How would it fare for my image and growth within the organization? Or should I suck it up & stick around anyways?
Just entered my staff 2 year this summer. A large (private) client just reached out thru a recruiter to offer me a senior accountant position.
Four day weekend... Honeydo weekend. If consulting doesn't work out I may do laminate flooring installations. What's your labor day project?
What web meeting platform are you using for client meetings? I’m currently using GoTo, but considering switching over to Zoom. (Got rid of Fuze years ago, it was crap)
Officially working remote instead of client site. Top three things that came to mind: 1) more doggo cuddles at home 2) comfy clothes 3) shit, I’m gonna have to buy groceries 😂
ANY OPPORTUNITY FOR PRODUCTION SUPPORT? I am working as a Software Engineer having experience of 3 years in a US based Support project
My firm is virtual - all work done remotely in home office unless on client site. Haven’t traveled since mid October. It’s driving me nuts. What do you recommend doing?
Imposter Syndrome - help! I just got the best job offer of my life for a client side position. I’m talking a $30k raise. But it is a LOT more responsibility and I can’t help but feel insane imposter syndrome. They are putting a lot of faith in me for this role and it’s a brand new position internally so there is a lot of pressure to do well. It has me questioning all my qualifications… I recognize there are things I can bring to the table but there is a lot I have to learn in this role.
My company expects me to work over 12 hours a day and I’m being asked to work the weekend constantly. Its making me extremely frustrated as I feel my labor is being exploited. Is it like this at other agencies? Has anyone made the switch to client side?
Hump day almost through, then flight home on Thursday evening! FTW I'm already done with this project !
(Sorry for the cross-posting...) Looking for some great (former) BigLaw transactional lawyers to work with my company Praktio (www.praktio.com) to develop new practical training for associates. Here's the LinkedIn job posting: www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/2636937239/. Initially contemplating these relationships as contractor/project-based, but hoping some will evolve into FTE. And open to starting off that way for the right opportunity.
Why do I feel so guilty about wanting to take another offer and leaving my team? I like my current teammates just HATE the client and project. I’ve also asked for a raise multiple times and have been told no. I’m underpaid but am up for promotion this year (June). I don’t think Deloitte can/willmatch. I want to take the money but I feel like I’m still learning leaderships skills and can see the potential for beefing out the management portion of my resume. What would you do? (Offer 50% more)
Not sure where to put this, but...how much is the max you spend on a single wine bottle at dinner when expensing dinner on a regular project working for big 4?
Joined a new project outside my area of expertise. I’m having difficulty speaking up in client meetings cuz I don’t want to sound dumb. 😪 anyone else?
How do you guys focus on workpapers with all the gossip and just small chatter that goes on around us? I find it to be extremely distracting. I want to use headphones, but that looks bad to the client
What's your take on "fake/scam" award ads? I think they're fine as long as they solve a real business problem. Also a great way to do good work when you aren't blessed with a client like BK/Nike/...
Can anyone tell me what is the hierarchy at Deloitte? There is a role for Lead solution Advisor. Is this role correct for 7 years experienced? What is next after this?
Thoughts on an exit to MaRS?
I’ve been through 5+ weeks of interviews with a company that will IPO next year and they did a bait and switch on me with the offer: it was advertised as “Head of” and then during the offer-walk-through-meeting today they said “oh btw we changed the title to ‘Senior Manager’ for this role”. They offered me a salary I made 4 years ago as a manager. They offered stock options with an exercise price TBD 1 year from now…which is when they’re hitting IPO. Is that normal for stock options?
What's the average salary for clinical trial manager and clinical research associate in Eastern Canada, esp. in Ontario and Quebec provinces? And kindly let me know the hierarchy in clinical operations. Is it CRAssct < CTMang.< CPrjM < CPrgM ??
I have an upcoming PM interview with an engineering manager. What types of questions should I expect? For some context, the interview is for a generalist PM role (not too technical) for a company that develops APIs.
Recently just swapped big4’s mainly for money / focus on work. Would it be career suicide to move to Arthur D Little (HCLS strategy), for another 40% raise..? Trying to talk myself out of it but the work, team, and comp seem appealing
Informed today that, unless we win some new business in the next 90 days, I’ll be laid off. Thoughts on when I should start to make alternative plans? (Con’t)
Where are all my ESG and CSR folks? Apparently the economic slowdown from covid 19 has caused emissions to slow down incredibly.
Gar nichts los in DE?
Has anyone actually interviewed with Guild Education, specifically for the client services role?
How seriously does Deloitte act on the HR complaint made against a SM who is extremely rude, abrasive, disrespectful to all his team members. Your inputs/experiences are highly appreciated. Deloitte
Best cash back card to use in conjunction with CSR? Thinking about freedom unlimited (1.5%) but not sure if other cards are worth it. Don’t spend enough on groceries for the blue
SO has been an art teacher for 5 yrs, looking to get out of the classroom. Just completed a Masters in Org Leadership with specialty in Proj Mgmt. What’s a good role for that Exp and Edu combo?
If I won't be needing health insurance from a full time gig could I ask that be added to my paycheck?
First year big 4 MD here with a question... ...if you beat your metrics by say double or triple or more, is it true that bonus hits a diminishing return and incremental sales or managed revenue don’t really impact VC?
Anybody have experience with Monta and Farer? I want to get a new watch soon to commemorate a new job/promotion. Looking at the monta atlas blue dial, also the Farer chrono-sport manual and Farer world time.
What's a very memorable or engaging networking event you attended? What made it so great (could be something from pre covid times too or from the present new norm if virtual)!
Hey, I have applied to a job at EY for Risk assurance. My academics are pretty good and I'm pursuing ACCA with BCom, with a year of internship experience as well. I have tried to apply but I think a referral would really help. Please dm me for referrals. Would be happy to speak on linkedin as well and send my job ID as well.
On a team of all men, all of whom have PhDs. The level of micromanaging is getting unreal especially because I've worked with this client for 3 years and know more about the project. Anyone have advice for condescending team members? Technically I am the team lead but their levels range
