Just got hired by BCG as an experienced hire, consultant position. What should I expect in my first few weeks? Would i be staffed on a project immediately or would i have to spend some time going through mandatory trainings? I heard they have a training program in Chicago. Is it applicable for experienced hires as well? Boston Consulting Group

Post joining my current company, I have worked in a small company for less than a month and resigned . But I didnot mention about that job experience in my TCS experience section. Now the bgc vendor from TCS is asking me to show the exp. Letter or relieving letter from that company and I submitted that to them. This has happened a month ago and still the status in iBegin is showing BGC SCHEDULED. Does hiding that in experience section affect my offer letter from TCS ?Tata Consultancy

Capital One is not a fintech. It is a bank.
But they have those great commercials where that guy knocks down the marble columns of a stodgy bank branch, and reveals … a bank branch that doesn’t have marble columns. Obviously a tech company, not a bank!

Capital one is not a fintech, it’s a bank. On the other hand as an example, Visa or PayPal are fintech. Trust me, I’ve worked at both.

Forbes reference
Everyone is a VP at a bank. Then you have SVP and EVP
All that matters is MVP
At Cap One: manager, director, senior director, VP.
VP is a big deal. Manager is comparable to big four manager.
I forgot senior manager. And I dunno about fintechs.
At traditional bulge bracket or middle market banks, VP is like Manager in consulting.
From their FAQ:
Associates can experience career growth through the following progression levels: Coordinator, Senior Coordinator, Principal Coordinator, Associate, Senior Associate, Principal Associate, Manager, Senior Manager, Director, Senior Director, Vice President, Managing Vice President, Senior Vice President, Executive Vice President.
Capital One’s structure is more akin to a fintech than a traditional bank. VPs at C1 are very senior whereas VPs at traditional banks are Manager level.
It’s a bank that is starting to focus more on technology, as most banks have been over last several years. I am sure they are doing some innovative things on the technology side, but I’d suggest that’s a very small portfolio of their business and wouldn’t really consider them FinTech.
What’s the question you’re trying to answer? Trying to compare roles, want to work at a bank or FinTech, etc?
Yeah looking to compare in terms of level and hierarchy what I should be aiming for one way or the other. Say I go to a typical bank, should I be aiming for a VP level? And will that be true for say Cap1 or PayPal as well
