How does HR/Comp at your companies feel about disclosing salary ranges to candidates? I know pretty much all of my peers feel it would make the candidate's experience better and our jobs easier, since no one would be wasting their time. I've heard some arguments in favor of not disclosing, and there is a certain degree of logic behind some of them, but I'm wondering what those arguments at your companies, and if it's something you feel is warranted or not.

Mgmt doesn't want us to talk about our pay (as internal staff). I suspect there's a lot of variation in wages.

I give candidates pay range when I open conversation. It's viral to tell them upfront, about 70 percent of candidates decline to move forward.

I have an L3 Finance written offer from Google. TC $146k in Austin. It is a slight hit in my cash comp compared to my current role. Overall getting a 15% bump in terms of TC. I have tried my best to negotiate and at least match my current cash comp but doesn't look like there's a way they can meet it. My thought is to push for L4 in near term to get a good bump once I get in. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

I recently received an offer for a Sr. Recruiter role with a startup. I have a feeling that the offer they made me is at the top of their salary range. The interview process was great and the hiring manager seems wonderful.

Knowing that she got me an offer for the very top of their salary band, would it be wise to still try and negotiate? I typically do negotiate any offer but I don’t want to come across as ungrateful. Please advise, I could really use some insight on this. What would you do?
