How does one make partner in a black box firm where there's no set plan to partner? I'm just curious what the path is. All about business brought in? Number of years? Work product? I just lateraled as a 4th year from a lock step firm to black box.

I just got offered a job with a firm that has billable hour requirements. I’ve never had had billable hours. Is is appropriate to ask what the billable requirements are?
