Hi All, I recently interviewed at Amazon and Google for software engineer and passed both interviews. I have an offer on the table from Amazon but with Google I am officially in team matching and my recruiter tells me that the queue is pretty backed up now and it can take a long time. My question is should I take the Amazon offer now or decline Amazon and hold out for Google? I have heard that Google has better wlb/benefits. But I'm scared to decline Amazon without a guaranteed job offer.
DM me if you're looking for a referral in Bosch

Seeking buying experience is smart. It definitely will help you become a better planner. That said, two things most planners are also buyers when it comes to digital unless it’s a really big piece of business where it makes more sense to have a portfolio approach to digital you’ll naturally take part in the RFP process anyway so no need for too much extra work there. Prisma skills will be helpful but aside from knowing how to execute plans, the majority of what you need learn lives outside the platform. If content is what interests you, check internally to see if you have either a publishing person/team and/or with your creative team the bulk of the content work will fall on them with you as the guide. If you have a strat/planning discipline check there too, content must align with branding so they can help guide you as well.
As a young planner take on the challenge. It will help you learn and understand various angles of decision making process. Even if you end up in planning, buying is an important skill. It’s fast paced. I’ve done both throughout various stages of my career. And, I’ve never regretted knowing a little more ;-)
(cont.) I'm mostly interested in pursuing this route in order to have a bigger role in the RFP/content partnership process because that's what interests me the most about media. I'm doing trainings on Prisma in my spare time but I know that not having experience in buying will make it difficult for me to transition.
