Generally comp and benefits are a little better at big4 as they don’t have shareholder pressures. Big 4 culture tends to be stuffier than ACN. ESP Pwc and D.

like

I hire managers from ACN all the time who make 120-130, that’s senior money at big4

like

In my experience at the Manager level ACN pays shit compared to PwC

like

@slalom consulting what seniors are making 120-130 in big 4? You’re probably looking at seniors who hold MBAs in specialized practices because most seniors in big 4 are not making that much

like

The salaries vary by workforce and practice... they can be all over the board

like

No EY, Seniors, with 5-6 years of exp. MBA hire seniors make about $150

like

I’m a senior in our advisory practice and I guarantee you none of the seniors are making anywhere near $120k. High performers are probably close to $100k but not $120

like

I’m a senior 2 and I make $120 🤷🏻‍♂️

like

ACN is lower comp for management consulting and technology consulting—ACN strategy is probably more on par with big 4.

like

SC1 they aren’t new managers, that’s for sure. Experienced managers can go up pretty high—I’ve seen PhD’s with 15 years of experience at ACN as managers—the band is wide. But for new managers in TC/MC who were promoted from consultant within MC/TC (at least the last couple years), it was below $130K base...

like

SC1, pay and benefits are both objectively better at ACN compared to the Big Four until you get to a top level, with Deloitte being the only one that's relatively close. I also see you edited your comment, good job on that :) my personal opinion is that ACN is better off than most of the Big 4 from a culture perspective, tho this is subjective and dependent on practice

Really? My entry level offer some years back was almost 5 figures higher for ACN vs. PWC, with worse benefits. As a newly promoted Manager I'm making $156k base salary - what's the PWC equivalent these days?

EY and KPMG are not comp leaders. EY senior manager absolutely overlaps w Deloitte and PwC manager

SC1, I can only imagine that you're looking at managers from CD&O. This is typically outsourcing and technical services, NOT our consulting division, which is C&M (Client & Market). CD&O pay can be significantly less than pay within our consulting division

Nope, C&M and very strong performers. Easy to bring them over with market comp.

Seems a bit crazy to me, but that's not typical comp at ACN. Sounds like you're looking at the bottom ten percent in terms of pay, no wonder they jumped ship :)

At PwC, $150 was about midpoint for Manager in a major city. Yea my examples were new managers at ACN digital and yea they were getting screwed

I know a few managers at ACN and they're making around $150

I think Deloitte base pay at Manager and Senior Manager is quite similar to Accenture Strategy, at least for those with MBA. The big difference is that Deloitte bonuses can be up to ~33%.

Hey Folks! I spent the last year and used my bonus to pay off all my credit cards and started an emergency fund. I’m currently about half way to having 6 months of net pay saved. Right now I have the fund evenly split between a “high-yield” (.5%) MM account and a TD brokerage account invested in a in a index fund. My question is would it make more sense to put that brokerage money into a Roth IRA since I could take that principal out in a emergency. Also already maxing out my 401k. Thanks!

I have enjoyed my time in consulting and feel fortunate to have made good money during my time here. I no longer have a desire for wealth accumulation as I feel like it makes me do things I am not interested in at all - leading to unhappiness. As I look to exit, what are some blue collar jobs out there where you can go to work, come home and truly leave it at work? I don’t need to make a ton of money, as long as I have benefits for my family I will be good.
