One word: Why?!?
Haven’t they been cutting IRS staff for years? Audits are at their lowest number in a decade.
I’ve thought about the IRS. I think it will be the last job of my career. My swan song. The “Logan” of my career. One last ride.
Slim to none. The IRS has been “retiring” any employee near retirement age, using short term contracts (6-18 months) for other jobs, they have been decreasing the number of actual audits that they have to perform by using the automated algorithms. I worked as a federal auditor for about 5 years and I was miserable.
Why Big 4???
IRS, FBI always looking for accountants. Just make sure you don't have dirt on you. They are critical with security clearance.
Or maybe 1 in 4.....
You will just have to give up your dignity and work ethic to work there.
Well... why not?
Exactly PwC 1
Thin pwc2 is right. Don't think they are hiring too many. I have looked at the us jobs website and it seems as though most IRS jobs postings are only for internal people who are looking to move/transfer.
