How easy is it to transition from a IT role (Operations manager / regional support manager) to a technical company role? I feel like the higher paying tech companies such a role is done by people with 10,15 ,etc years of experience and other roles would be a step back

I was just promoted to senior. I would like to leave public after obtaining my CPA/having a busy season as a senior under my belt. PA wrecks havoc on my anxiety and I don’t know how long I can realistically last in this position. This might be horrible to say but I would honestly love a job with structured hours (ie just the basic 9-5, maybe some overtime here and there but not the norm/expected) and the work is also very boring/similar day to day. Can anyone recommend positions that fit this?

I’ll start - I’m an advisor in Wealth Management with TC of $70k, 3 YOE and no side hustle. Among other things, rent just jumped from $2500 to $3700 for 2 bedroom and areas were looking at. I’d like to “make it” here but if it means switching career to make money I’d like to get an idea to make the right job change.

26, just bought my third rental property, 2/3 already cash flow 300-900$ a month after all expenses. I had to leave for my mental health. Finding a new role took a while due to the pandemic, but I found a role at a digital marketing agency. It was a great team, but paid very little. Hi ladies, getting a bit in my head. I was laid off a couple of weeks ago. Had my first interview at a Tech company… This was the worst interview I’ve had, dude was condescending, did not care about any of my experience if it wasn’t in tech and did not have any time to train the person who clearly needed to put off some fires ASAP. Red flag all around and of course, I did not continue the process. Every interview after that has only gone thru the recruiter to later (continue in comments)

So, I’ve been at the adtech I work for for 5 years. I’ve been able to learn and grow in my role and, honestly, I’m happy.
BUT I’ve had calls with 2 different recruiters this past month for different tech companies in different stages, both offered much more than what my current salary is (at least $20k over my base salary, even when I had a 10% raise this year).
I’m realizing I’ve been severely lowballed and kind of want to bring it up to my manager. Anyone have any experience like this?
