Don’t have an answer to this, but just want to say that being aligned to implementation doesn’t mean you only do implementation projects if that’s your concern. It’s like declaring a major, so you’re expected to focus most of your time on it but you can also do projects in other areas. (For example, I’m a generalist that’s done a lot of implementation)

M4 could you elaborate on what type of strategy work? Was it more ops related? And how did you get those projects? Also curious to know if it’s frown upon to do so few implementation work when you’re in MI
I mean there would be no reason to move. You can already do the same projects so what would be the point. Once you’re on a team, no one can tell the difference between an implementation associate and an integrative associate unless you look up their profile in the directory.
Up to you. You can just choose to do more short projects and diagnostics. The type of people that are interested in MI don’t always want that, so the average is probably 2.4 years vs 2.1 years from asc to EM. The couple of months don’t really matter unless you’re coming in as a BA.
I thought McK didn’t do impl work? Or was that at your previous job

Branding to the hiring market may be a little confusing but branding to our clients is clear. A practice of industry experienced experts who used to work at companies just like yours who will help carry through the mutually developed strategy? They love it.
Don’t the implementation troops come at a significantly lower price point and thus receive different salary and have different hiring profiles...? Understand that generalists might be there to support / drive but I understood it’s a different model
Salary is the same! Only caveat is mck implementation doesn’t force you to move up the ranks as quickly since it’s understood that projects are longer (at least from what I hear from the folks I met). Unsure about pricing structure

Joining with a goal of changing paths is the wrong mindset. Yes it happens but not too often. More common is going from generalist to more specialized.
