Background checks can only verify dates of employment and criminal history. How far back employment history goes depends the ppl doing the check, criminal history is whatever is on your record regardless of when it happened. Good luck.

Going through this process currently via HireRight. Nothing odd about my background but I am an immigrant and it's 100% harder regarding proof of everything before moving to USA. Also the system keeps locking me out and I'm not resigning before the process is complete which impacts my start date.

I failed a background check & still got the job, FWIW. My former agency was small and didn’t have HR to keep records current so my data was deemed incorrect when in fact it was easily proved agency had not kept records of anyone’s employment but still.

Not thorough. 10ish years? Depends on the shop and the crime... Roommate had a misdemeanor that never seemed to be an issue (he’s been at shops owned by the big holding companies). Most places will ask if you’ve committed a felony during the application process - so guessing that’s the big hurdle You can always explore getting your record expunged. Not sure how that’s done...

Starting a new job soon and they just told me they’d like me to join a team-wide offsite in person in July (the role is fully remote). I’m vaxxed but have an underlying issue and still feel uncomfortable/like it’s too soon for me. I feel awkward explaining that. What’s reasonable?

I’m in my mid-40s with a 7 year old and baby. Is it too late for me to back into public accounting? I was laid off last year and found a great job in a large bank. I miss the flexibility, challenge and rigor of PA. I would love your opinions. Has the ship sailed for me in PA? If I go back I would be an experienced senior; maybe, a year or so from manager.

Here's an antivaxxer story for you... My brother called my mom in a panic asking for a scan of photo of my dad's vaccine card - brother has the same name as my father. Apparently my brother is out with his bosses in NYC and they're all vaxxed and Mr. alt-right was going to be denied entry to a restaurant for an important business dinner. He got lucky but seriously, just get the vaccine already!!! (He's had COVID and recovered which is pushing him further info kuckoo antivaxxer territory 🙄) 🦠🦠
