Background checks can only verify dates of employment and criminal history. How far back employment history goes depends the ppl doing the check, criminal history is whatever is on your record regardless of when it happened. Good luck.
Going through this process currently via HireRight. Nothing odd about my background but I am an immigrant and it's 100% harder regarding proof of everything before moving to USA. Also the system keeps locking me out and I'm not resigning before the process is complete which impacts my start date.
I failed a background check & still got the job, FWIW. My former agency was small and didn’t have HR to keep records current so my data was deemed incorrect when in fact it was easily proved agency had not kept records of anyone’s employment but still.
