You can take the early short term disability on our insurance with a note from your doctor. The note doesn’t have to be that much even “XX is due on XX/XX and needs to be off work.
This doesn’t eat into your original 16 weeks either.
Stopped 4 weeks before because I live in CA and its use it or lose it. It was nice to have time to myself; also had a lot of check ups and it was great not having to coordinate any of them with work etc.
If you’re in California they give you time before you due date. I always worked up until my deliveries. My workload was far less but it was nice to have a distraction from only thinking about being huge and wanting the baby to come.
PwC get 2 weeks off prior to due date. 4 if live in CA.
I loved not working those 2 weeks. Spent it nesting, cooking and sleeping
Worked until I went into labor, but last couple weeks were mostly BD from home. I’ve heard of senior folks making local pitches at 9 months pregnant but mostly also work from home with occasional appearances at office or client
I worked until a week before my due date (a Friday). Had grand plans for how I would spend that week - massages, daytime movie with loads of glorious buttery popcorn, date nights. Went into labor Monday night 🤦🏻♀️. If there’s a next time, I’m taking 2 weeks off before
Same as D2. Stopped four weeks before due date with both my pregnancies (I’m PwC in CA and that time off is use it or lose it). Some of my favorite time off to myself!
Worked until I delivered. I wanted as much time after the baby was born as I could get
Worked until I went into labor with both my kids. Transitioned projects beforehand and was remote for last 2 weeks - because none of your co-workers want to see you water break in the office & waddling like a duck in from the parking lot is not very appealing.
36 weeks, because KPMG provides short term disability for the last 4 weeks. Baby came a week late, so it turned out to be 5 weeks paid. Was very relaxing until that last week when I was OVER IT.
38 Weeks.had planned 2 weeks of PTO before the due date but the baby decided to come a week Early.
36 weeks. I took my paid antepartum time off. I left nothing on the table.
At KPMG you get 4 weeks before your due date. It’s take it or lose it. Don’t know anyone who didn’t take it since it’s paid. I did that with my first and will also do it with my second which is due in a few months.
First baby, worked until my water broke. But o was remote and had a reduced workload so it was fine. Second, I took off the week before due date and am so happy I did. Was able to sleep a lot, do some final prep and pamper myself (massages, acupuncture, yoga).
In NY they allow you to take leave two weeks before your due date. My team also was ok with me working from home more, and I got naps in.
At KPMG we have a month off before the delivery date if you choose to take it. I don’t know any moms who didn’t take it
Worked until I delivered. I rolled off my last project about a month after I found out, spent the majority of my pregnancy on the bench and worked remote on 2 small engagements before delivery
M1- how do you get two weeks before due date? Is that your company policy, or something NY specific? BCG2- who would you talk to about taking this type of STD leave- HR? Or work directly with insurance?
First pregnancy I went into labor on a Saturday. I worked the Friday before. Second pregnancy went into labor and delivered on a Wednesday and was on conference calls that morning before I decided that it was real deal and not false labor. I did live in CA for the second but I was also working from home and liked having work to focus on instead of the pain I was in that last month.
Worked until I delivered but was WFH for last month. And last couple days (I was late) I didn't have any work because I'd already handed over my workstream.
