How frequently do you think staff should contact parents about how their child is doing?

I think it depends on the child. I have students who struggle with their behavior so I have to contact parents after bad days. If we go awhile without bad days I like to contact them with positive news as well. But my students who are doing well and that I have no concerns for, I only talk to their parents during conferences and on report cards

We do a monthly what we are doing in class, but other than that it depends on the student.

I email weekly grade reports and will had a couple sentences about each student with those emails. If there is a problem or something great that happens, I will email that day. Usually with the student beside me so they can read and see what exactly I am saying to their parents.

For those who have kids or have decided you want to start having kids, how did you know you were ready to start trying? I’m turning 31 and my husband and I have been married for 8 months. I’ve always wanted to have kids eventually, but I’m having a hard time coming to terms with how much life will change and the sacrifices that have to be made. Maybe it’s because social media has made me acutely aware of the the mom struggle. If anyone has helpful advice to push past the fear, please share!

Hey mommas - My baby is 14 weeks old and I haven't gotten my period back yet. I'm worried I'm pregnant again. When did you get your period back? For context, I'm breastfeeding but not exclusively (I am pumping and nursing as much as I can though). I've been on the pill since 6 weeks and my husband used condoms for the first few weeks once we started again. Surprisingly, I can't find anything online that's helpful. Any sense of a timeframe would be tremendously anxiety-reducing!

For those with kids, how would you feel if someone without kids told you “I chose not to have kids, because of where I want to spend my time. And, my priorities outside of work should carry as much weight as yours (meaning kids)”?

My sister is unvaccinated with no plans to get the vaccine. She is getting married this year, meaning lots of events. I am pregnant, high risk (CH mama from yesterday’s post), and can’t risk getting Covid again. What would you do? Do I ask her to get vaccinated for my/her future niece’s sake? If she doesn’t, should I sit out the wedding events?

Is anyone dealing with pressure to travel/attend in person events? I’m pregnant, there is no vaccine for my young children and therefore we are still taking precautions pretty seriously as a result. Seems like “I’m being careful because of Covid” is no longer an accepted excuse

I started working in a agency two months ago, and I have two very big projects running simultaneously. My Creative Director left for paternity leave, and left me with all the work, facing the client, going to shootings, editing. I've been working 15 days straight, no weekends. The agency hasn't given me any back up/someone I can team up with to do the job. Is this normal? I'm used to have a partner, a copywriter or another creative working alongside. Keep in mind that I'm mid-level.

I've been working late most nights this week. In the office all week despite the WFH policy. Partner has seen me all day. I'm heading out at 5pm to pick my kid up from daycare since my husband has been doing it for me all week. And the partner says we need to catch up before the weekend. Dude. I told you I had to leave at 5pm today. I had another $75 added to my daycare bill this month for being late at pick ups. Don't look annoyed that you didn't come talk to me. I can call you from the car.
