Edinburgh 1bhk seems to be going in the 700-900 pound per month range.
On top of that you will pay council tax, gas, electricity, wifi and water bills
Monthly expenses depend on your lifestyle and how often you eat out / travel /shop
Your monthly take home would be around 2600 after tax and NI.
Most of which would go away in your house expenses.
It would seem like you might be able to save just over 1000 pounds a month if you are frugal.
To get a better idea, check out average rent prices in rightmove.co.uk near your office, figure out the average council tax for those houses and you should get an idea.
Thanks
