I got a remote L6 SWE offer at Google but the RSUs are too low for that level ($625k over 4 years), could not negotiate it higher. I’ve accepted the offer but trying to be hopeful that I could make it more equitable in the future if I perform well. Not difficult, comparatively. There’s a test prep kit that the ACFE sells which has practice questions and final exams. There’s a slightly deeper dive into US federal laws on different kinds of fraud. I’d say the only thing I found challenging was trying to get my computer to work with their “test at home” format and software, which involved 45 minute waits for a live proctor b/c of the US time difference with India.
If you can get your company to cover the live course (3-4 days), that is the best option. They cover a section, then you take the test for that section. They grade on site, so you know if you passed or not. And if you didn’t, you have time on the last day to retake one if needed. You won’t need it. If you passed the CPA, just listening to the content is enough to then take the test and pass. The course is CPE, so most firms will cover it.
