I've personally never really understood the teachers who say they don't take it seriously. I'm pretty hardcore about it, since at the end of the day, it's how our students are evaluated. For me, it's less about static preparation, and more about making sure the test permeates everything I do. So for example, I'll make sure a portion of a student's homework is questions from the test. I'll also make sure there is a weekly test prep question or unit we discuss (winner gets a prize). So I take it pretty seriously.
It’s important to get students into the practice online tests to learn format and online tools. That’s hard to do with the tech, but we roll.
