I have an offer from Walmart but I'm also interviewing at Meta. I'm midway through the Meta process but there's still a long way to go and I don't want to rush through it unprepared. Both are for a Data Scientist position. Any suggestions on how to deal with a situation like this? Walmart Facebook (Meta)

I don’t lie, but I will modestly exaggerate.

During interview: I was the CEO’s right hand man and advisor on key strategic initiatives
@C2 I busted out laughing. You won in my book today.
10 min weekly exercise to update a forecast spreadsheet and email it out to the same group of people each Friday:
“I managed the sales pipeline for the practice leader, presenting analysis of key pursuits, forecasted revenues and staffing requirements to senior leadership”
that's it. no more lobster on reserve weekends for you EY3
I don’t lie in interviews. I’m the man. If they don’t see that then I don’t want to work for them.
I’m not killing it in real life. Just job interviews and fishbowl jokes
You only architected, managed, led and sold it? I also lead the implementation, follow on work and enhancements which will occur in phase 2. If phase two is slated to happen after I leave, as long as I don’t see it canceled I’ll assume my project led to the phase 2 stuff.

Boom
Accenture mds be like
This shit will catch up with you. Smart, savvy hiring managers will see through your bullshit. Overselling yourself is a great way to end up working at an inept company incapable of hiring good talent surrounded by other bozos who bamboozled their way past the interview process (like Accenture)
Bcg1 I got a manager exit so I’m not writing code. My coworker got a senior architect position. Both of us are average performers. I’m not going to fang though. I’m going to a prop trading firm with very competitive pay in nyc
I don’t have to lie because I actually do all of those things
EY - no brownies for lying in FB too. We know your game
you have to lie to your client atleast 10 times a day, why not start with the interview. and if you are getting interviewed by the Partner, no shame in lying to the biggest liar.. same for HR interview.. same for recruiter.
Shit escalated quickly
“dOnT lIe To HiRiNg MaNaGeRs ThEy ArE sMaRt AnD wIlL fIgUrE iT oUt”
I call bullshit. Most of the time the recruiters have no idea what the work they’re hiring for. I’ve literally had dozens of interviews where the HR screen couldn’t give me any more details on the position than what was posted. And Jesus H Christ, this is consulting. Literally everything we do is based on overselling our achievements and underplaying our weaknesses. We’re all phonies.
Not to mention most of us spend 99% of our time wordsmithing and formatting PowerPoint slides, so stop acting like we actually have any real technical experience.
Unfortunately this is true. I’ve had recruiters call me just to fucking network. They don’t even have jobs available. Such a waste of time
All internal work is also client work. I list the industry on resume as whatever it needs to be. The way I see it, since my firm serves all industries I am working for all industries when I do internal work for the firm.
Same
I just say I “collaborated” a lot. So what if my collaboration contribution was one email.
i thought this was normal?
Lying is the worst thing you can do during an interview. Be confident in your own values
telling that your response had no reactions
Lie as much as a partner would in client meetings. That's my rule of thumb
That’s actually worse than me if that translates to accenture mds.
OP is the best 😂
Thanks I try 💁🏻♂️
I exaggerate sometimes but I'm lucky enough to not have to lie. But if you do lie just make sure you can back it up
Jesus I thought I didn’t but after this thread who knows
I think it’s on par with big 4. Some groups are better than others.
