You gotta be really Garbo to get tier 5
Rising Star
In my first year I got a tier 5 in every metric on multiple clients and didn’t have a PIP or fired. I am the one who lived!!
Ive been in CRTs for 10 years and have never seen a real 5. It just goes to someone who was already let go to meet the distribution. All 4’s are PIPs and two 4’s in a row you’re gone
How about 4s?
Like in EY /Deloitte or pdubs/kpmg
5% or less for the peer group across the nation get top ranking (5). 10% get a 4.
Oh I meant the worst performing tiers haha
Tier 5 I think is usually in a PIP (performance improvement plan)
It depends on how much you RL and managers love/hate you. I had a first year on my team get a tier 4 (and subsequently a PIP) because they couldn't keep up with the workload. We were short staffed and all of us were trying to keep our heads above water, and I don't know why this person was singled out and not the rest of us. They were a good associate otherwise. But on another team there was a first year who showed up late and left early during busy season, produced garbage work, etc. and got a tier 3 because her managers were cool. So it all depends!
Hard
It’s not normal. If you land there, find someone you trust to get honest feedback. I’ve seen many who got honest feedback, acted on it and are so very successful today.
