SM and D 🐠: when you interview a candidate with 9+ yrs of experience for a technical/leadership role - do you expect them to know the definitions of “objects” that they learnt as basics a decade back? or do you give them scenario based questions that solves clients’ problems? Genuinely curious.
I’ve been looking for an in-house position for years now and I’m emotionally worn out. I got through numerous rounds of interviews with one company recently, only for them to pass. I’ve cried and prayed over this, finally realizing that it may not be in the cards for me. I hate my firm and law firms, so I’m trapped. It just sucks because I’m an over-achiever but I’m failing miserably at my legal career. Did anyone have any luck with landing an in-house job after years of trying? Any advice?
What kind of experience (in terms of years/deal exp) is expected when applying to Analyst roles at JP/GS/MS etc that have stated they require prior experience? European/UK focused
I'm in talks with PwC India for potential offer for Advisory Tech Consulting in banking domain & I'm holding another offer from a Fortune 100 Insurance, Banking & Finances company, but doesn't have the 'Brand Value' in India. PwC India is offering the location Kolkata & other offer is from Pune(my preferred location). Keeping in mind the recent political events(I interviewed at PwC before election results) looking for suggestions from you 🐟es, which one would y'all go for? Brand or Location?
Any 🐠 looking to hire a consultant with S&O + M&A experience? I have a diverse range of experiences across industries and verticals and would be an invaluable resource to any team (my manager’s words, not mine). Interested primarily in tech or retail. Currently interviewing for two FANG positions in ops, but would love to expand my search! Thanks!
Hello... This is for Deloitte guys. I have cleared the interview in Delloite and have signed and sent the letter of intent and it's been 11 days and I still haven't received my formal offer letter. Also the HR is not picking up my call. She just once said that it is pending with the offer management team. Do you have any idea if this takes so long or where has it gone wrong? Please let me know if you have any idea. I am really really worried. Thanks.
Interviewing for a Deloitte risk advisory (IA) position and I’m really anxious. I have about 2.5 YOE at EY but I’m still nervous about answering questions incorrectly. What’s the best way to prep for interviews and what kind of questions can I expect them to ask me? I guess I’m not 100% confident since I still feel like I have a lot to learn about IA and internal control testing.
On an E2 with current company and have an offer from another firm and now thinking they logistics. Should I hold off quitting until the new E2 is successful just in case it’s denied? Will applying for a second visa flag a problem?
ZS 🐠! I received an offer for the NY office and am leaning towards taking it. Any thoughts you can share about the culture, work life balance, etc? Ran out of time during interview to ask...
Does the Kellogg PT program require the video essays? Submitted my application yesterday but have only heard back about scheduling an interview. Nothing about the video essays. Thanks!
I think I asked for too low of a salary during initial interviews elsewhere. The recruiter never told me the band either. About to go into second round. Is there still a chance to ask for more?
Fishes - Appreciate any insights on prep for an upcoming interview with Uber for a strategic planning role. Thank you.
Tell me about your experiences moving from NYC to LA! Curious to know how work culture differs, and if it's possible to land a job while interviewing from the opposite coast? And, how possible is it to get a moving stipend? I'm junior but looking to find a mid-level role for my next job.
Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. Now that I signed the offer and is pending background checks, my anxiety is off the roof as it itches closer to my starting date.
I'm having an interview this week. I haven't interviewed for the past 5 years. With the exception of practicing general questions, background research of company, what other advice can y'all give me? Interviewing for a industry senior accountant role. Wish me luck :D
Had an interview with Amazon last week. Interviewer mentioned I should hear back by this Monday and if not to ping him directly. I did not get his contact info since we used chime and can’t seem to find him on chime, where we interviews. Is it ok to send a message to his linked in?
Urgent help! I didn’t work on R before, just basic knowledge. Now the company I’m interviewing for asked me to solve a supply chain optimisation case study on R and make a presentation. Any leads on how can I learn R by this weekend?
Looking for feedback on KPMG? Culture, work-life balance, projects, salaries, progression etc
Anyone else tire of the “plant mom” and “dog dad” me too conversation? It seems to be more frequent. For example, company says, “Parents, please share pictures of working from home with your kids during Covid” for a diversity and inclusion project. Undoubtedly someone responds, “what about my plant babies? 🤣”. I don’t want sympathy but I find it childish. Just give us the courtesy of understanding that plants and pets are not the same. Stop “me too’ing”
I am looking to switch careers. I have been in my current career for nearly 20 years. I need a change. I have masters degree in instructional technology, health care administration, and English. I am working on trying to work my current skills into today's job market. That is more difficult than I anticipated. I guess I'm wondering if there really is anything out there to switch to? I feel lucky to have a job, but it is getting very depressing and difficult to get up for work.
Looking to connect with anyone who has experienced the 4-5 hour virtual interview with AWS. It’s in about a week and I’m super anxious 😣
Im applying to this startup that has two positions that im really interested in. I already sent my app for one where I think my chances are better. Should I send an email to tell them Im interested in the other position as well, or would this be strange / weird?
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Need help with a decision and would love to hear from some experienced consultants. I have an offer to join Accenture for: - $145k salary - 5% bonus - 6% match (after vest) - 15% discounted stock purchase program At EY current -> FY21 - $100k -> $115k (est) - $5k -> $5k (est) - 1.5% match But I seriously love what I do at EY... like I think it’s very cool. I’m afraid I won’t enjoy Accenture that much and I feel I’m really making a name for myself at EY. Please help. I am coming up on 3yoe
If you have an outside offer at the next level up in your career but receive the offer before promotion time at your firm, what should you do?

Hey y’all, what are some good exit opportunities to look for in Canada? Some context: I’m a healthcare consultant without a clinical background, but I really don’t love the work I’m doing. Not interested in joining the public sector and unfortunately there aren’t too many startups or interesting tech companies in the healthcare/life sciences space in Canada. Any thoughts?
Has anyone filed a police report with LA county that have video evidence and the faces of the criminals? Any lessons learned? I recently got my bike stolen and I want to make sure the footage I have gets seen by an officer.

I am actually in a very demanding project and my nanny can’t watch my baby anymore. I can’t take him to daycare as I immunocompromised. Can I request for an unpaid leave of absence? Would that be covered by unemployment or any other option I can explore? I am lost :(
