Hi fishes, I've joined TCS on 9th nov as a 2 YOE .Net developer. Since past week I'm getting project interview calls, I have given 3 till now, not selected in 1 and not sure in other 2. I've followed up with the interviewers about my interview , both said that they have given their feedback to their managers and if there is an requirement I will be called up. I am little worried seeing all the layoffs going on...can my employment be in danger upon failing in project interviews?? Tata Consultancy

Hi all, recently a recruiter from Amazon reached out for an SDE 2(2+ years of exp. required) role and I'm a recent CS grad. I gave the OA (which was extremely difficult w/ 99% cut-off) and other tasks related to the OA. A few hours back, I got a call from the recruiter that I had cleared the assessment and tasks and said that they are looking for 2+ years of exp. I said I'm open to the SDE1 role and said she'll ask her colleagues. Idk what to expect now 😥 Amazon Amazon India
Kind souls who successfully exited to Google,
Would you be kind enough to refer me to a role at Google!
Came across a role that's a good fit. Would ideally like to target it through a referral and not by applying through the career site.
Would also love to maybe take you for a meal or alike to thank you for it :) Google

Hi everyone! Curious if anyone here works for Slack and can shed a little light on the culture and perhaps offer a referral for an associate brand manager position I just saw on LinkedIn. With the Salesforce acquisition are SF employees allowed to refer for Slack roles? Currently a senior analyst with 4 YOE looking to break into a branding role! Thanks in advance.

They are two separate things, no? You’re not protected from a layoff due to poor performance. You’re protected from being let go or fired or otherwise negatively impacted because of the disability.
I would think that if you were cut during a layoff it would be hard to tie to your disability.
Protected disability protects your from being let go on the basis of your disability only.
It will be hard to accuse them of that during a round of company layoffs and a record of poor performance.
They are completely different. Layoffs are based on performance, while a protected disability will protect you from being discriminated or illegally dismissed based on your disability. So if a person has a protected disability and has poor performance, then most likely, that person will be laid off.
HR will still be hesitant to let anyone go without first trying something like a PIP. People file bogus lawsuits all the time.
This is a good point. It helps cover them while buying the employee time
