If you have zero or a limited skillset that overlaps with to being a strategist (I don't know what they do compared to a planner) or an analytics manager, no one will want to hire you. There is not enough of an overlap for that move. Especially for analytics, there's a huge learning curve and it's not really a learn on the job role unless you're a junior/entry level or with adequate academic background/ work experience. Having an AD hired with very limited analytics skills (but exceptional interviewing BSing faking skills) really drove our team to shambles and have the whole entire account see our team as a joke even though she is the only weak link.
Difficult because you'd have to prove not only expertise and knowledge in a different area that youve already been pigeon holed in but that you deserve to move up also. I'd suggest making the horizontal move first.
⬆ And also, it's never as easy as it seems from the outside so I wouldn't advise biting more than you can chew, provided somebody is willing to give that job to begin with
Digitas is pretty good about cross capability moves, but doubtful you'd get the bump up simultaneously. Just get a chat with HR on the books about your desire to switch teams and they'll shoot you straight
As long as you have the necessary skills it shouldn't be too hard. I guess it could be an agency but agency basis.
