I have a solid idea about the base salary I can expect for a similar role at a hedge fund in NYCA (190-220k) but would like to have some data points about signing bonus and performance bonus.

What does it mean when you get to speak directly with the hiring manager in your first round interview? What are they looking for? What questions will they usually ask?

In your experience, what do you think is more valued in consulting, industry knowledge or business offering knowledge? I’ve always assumed business offering knowledge but I’m working on a market entry project (which I’ve done a million times) in a unique industry outside the two I typically work in and I feel pretty lost.

What happens if a home buyer won't sign termination contract?

Had our house go under contract with a VA buyer just over a month ago for full asking and no contingencies, and an inspection done within a couple days from signing. Buyer switched jobs and basically went radio silent for a couple weeks as we tried to make things work but finally found our he lost approval and submitted the termination. They have now refused to sign the termination which is disallowing is to go back on market.

Thoughts on why a company over 3 years would have a large SG&A over 3 years mostly in Q4?

I am waiting for my offer letter and HR is saying it is getting delayed because of this.

There are a lot of tasks that I can anticipate will be delegated to me when I get looped into a deal. Is it annoying for me to send an email saying “I saw X email. Would you like me to do X?” before the partner/senior associate actually asks me to? I want to be proactive and also find it’s a good way to avoid late night/last minute requests when these smaller things slip the upper levels’ minds but I also don’t want to be a pest. Thoughts?
