Any insight or information regarding a project controller analyst/consultant position (hours, type of work, travel, etc.)?
What apps/systems do you use to keep track of all your projects and tasks for the various matters you're working on? I recently took on a more senior associate role and am juggling even more projects and assignments than before. I want to make sure I am putting my best foot forward and keeping track of everything I'm juggling so I don't drop something by accident.
I’m currently a Big 4 GPS C with 2 YOE. What’s the minimum TC % increase you would take if you moved to an industry Strategy & Ops role? Additional context: Move would be DC > Austin Currently making $88k
Rank the big 4 for tech consulting. Clearly Deloitte is first, where do the other three fall? PwC seems to just have lame IT audit projects, are EY and KPMG any better?
Recently laid off from Sr. Consultant role in energy in Houston. 4 years exp in supply chain/procurement and 2 in consulting (mainly tech PM work aka scrum). Have my MBA and PSM 1 cert. I know opportunities are far and few between right now, but looking for either energy or supply chain consulting role. Open to travel once resumed. If anyone is aware of a need, I'd appreciate the help!
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Interviewing for a Deloitte risk advisory (IA) position and I’m really anxious. I have about 2.5 YOE at EY but I’m still nervous about answering questions incorrectly. What’s the best way to prep for interviews and what kind of questions can I expect them to ask me? I guess I’m not 100% confident since I still feel like I have a lot to learn about IA and internal control testing.
What is the typical length in time from starting the conversation to receiving an offer when transferring from one big 4 to another?
Had my virtual on-site for an S&O L3 role 3.5 weeks ago (NYC, 5 YOE). I haven’t heard back on a decision yet, and was wondering how long it typically takes? I also know that I was one of the very first candidates to interview for this specific role, and there are atleast 2 more people scheduled for onsites. Does the recruiter typically wait for all candidates to finish their onsites before communicating a decision? Or if I haven’t heard back yet, it’s probably a reject?
EY is by no means perfect but the way they are handling the virus situation so far is admirable. The situation will continue to evolve and change things but hats off to the best Big 4 👏🏽
Mamas, have you asked for a roll off or less responsibilities on your current project due to pregnancy symptoms like morning sickness? My client is so critical and demanding it’s caused me to have stress hives and panic attacks. I don’t think I can do my role well pregnant and don’t want the stress to cause the baby harm.
How much does big 4 pay for risk / internal audit for an experienced senior in NYC? Would 90k be on the lower end?

B4 tax people, what do your hours look like in the summer? What about busy season? I’m regional and put in about 2,500 total and 1,850 charge.
Hi Fishes, I have an interview scheduled with Infosys this weekend for Pega technology (Pega Developer role). Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.
Have 2.5 YOE and consultant at Deloitte. Huron consulting reached out to interview me for a Consulting Analyst position bc apparently analyst is (0-5 years) and associate is 5+. Does this make sense/sound right ? What’s the expected salary at an analyst level?
Company made an offer below my current compensation, even after I submitted my current compensation for proof. Is that normal or are they just taking advantage of a flooded job market?
Have a ton of Aeroplan points saved up. Debating whether to save them for travel or use them for an Apple Watch. Any tips? Is it generally better value to use them for travelling?
Is this a red flag? I have been at 2 companies and have 3 YOE. 2 years at the first company and 1 at the second. Company I’m interviewing with right now is dragging me through the coals about it like I’m some kind of serial job hopper. Ive never experienced this at any other interview I’ve had. Is this seriously that big of a deal?
What is the best certification to pursue in this area? Looking at SHRM-CP but want to learn more about others.
McKinsey people a few weeks ago: “Sorry, I can’t refer you because it would dilute my network quality and I won’t even take the time to get to know you.” McKinsey people now: “Take my referral and apply now!” What a difference $5k makes.
Anyone familiar with the IRS’s tax law specialist position as part of the transfer pricing practice?
How do I have the conversation with a Partner about writing a letter of rec for a PhD program? Will I put myself a risk of being laid off if I express interest in continuing my education?
Thinking of switching from delta to American, am I crazy? I fly from LGA as my home airport. But like the American network and find flights are consistently cheaper when I’m searching for personal travel. I normally get silver/gold status depending on the year. Is my American experience going to be good?
Any insight on getting MBA from mendoza as far as prospects for transitioning into a post-mba strategy consulting role? It’s ranked outside the top 15 but from research seems like it still sends plenty of grads to top consulting firms (not MBB)
List on companies that hire remote workers: Not 100% of their roles are remote, but they have a whole bunch of options across the spectrum divisions.
Anyone here who suffers from ADD/ADHD? My Vyvanse wears off around 4:00, I take Adderall to supplement but my psychiatrist is reluctant to give me more Adderall to power through the day/night; he just doesn’t get B4 busy season. Any advice?
I'm starting a new position Monday and it will be 100% WFH. How do you all dress for WFH positions typically? I know I won't be making appearances daily but after working in an office setting for the last 11 years (even throughout the entirety of covid), this is very new for me. Also, any other tips you have are more than welcome! TIA
What’s the maximum PTO payout if I quit? I’ve got a ton of hours saved up. Like 8 weeks. Will I get all of it?
I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?
What is the culture like at Facebook? Thinking of exiting into a product owner role or just general pmo type of role. Good company to work for?
Got to final round at McKinsey in January this year, didn't get an offer but got added to the Keep in Touch list, and the recruiter said I got good feedback but to wait a year before applying again. I started at Deloitte in October; if I decide to go for McKinsey again, is it weird to reach out again in January next year (having only worked for a few months at my current job), or should I go for it?
Any PwC Managers have any advice on navigating the culture. I joined recently and already had to pull a director aside regarding how she was talking to me?
