My friend has a medical exemption for the Covid vaccine due to a severe allergy and just got an offer from Deloitte and wants to work onsite. Last month, HR told me I needed to fill out FMLA for 2 medical issues I have. I got 1 doctor to do the paperwork but not the other. I’m working on getting it even though I’m over the 15 day window (that I didn’t know existed). But then today HR said they needed a list of all my doctors appointments that take me out of the office. I thought HR only needed to know about the FMLA absences? I’ve never had to have my general doctor appointments approved before. Is this something I have to disclose?

I recently left my corporate paralegal role to return to a small personal injury firm. I was shocked to learn that the HITECH fee no longer applies if a client requests their medical records be sent to a third-party (e.g. attorney). Has anyone had any success modifying their HITECH request template for clients so there IS a fee limitation AND the records are sent directly to their attorney? Paying $100+ for hospital records is sickening.
