I recently received an offer from Microsoft for a Program manager internship. I just found out that it wasn't at the location (local) i intended it to be and I have to relocate to Seattle. This really doesn't work out for my logistically and I was wondering if its possible to somehow switch it to a remote position. Please let me know if anyone has been in this situation before id greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

In addition to the Central/West role I posted earlier today, I'm also recruiting candidates located in the East US region for an Enterprise AE role at Workato ($5.7B valuation).
Workato is an automation platform company ranked in the Gartner Magic Quadrant.

Some tricks that I've learned from working remotely is continuing to meet on digital conferencing tools on 1:1s, team coaching calls, and stand-ups. Hasn't been too big of a change from a team perspective.
The issues arise from new people that may get lost and not sure what to do or who to call. I’ve combated this with weekly one on ones and texting. I use group texting/messaging like crazy. It helps with ideas, coming up with solutions from the team. Extra support with the lead is wrapped up.
My team used to only have 8 am standup meetings via Facebook portal with our other two offices.. since COVID we have a 8 am short stand up meeting via Zoom along with a 4 pm wrap up meeting via Zoom. Cameras on required for everyone to keep the team feeling. We also heavily use GroupMe for questions and FYIs with the team (and funny gifs 😉). Started to incorporate more training sessions in the downtown that go the entire team together for an hour long via Zoom.
Haven’t noticed any issues! A key part to drive communication has been having a good set of KPI’s. Oftentimes those KPIs are conversation starters with the team or individuals on the team!
Microsoft Teams has been the best remote platform I have used since Rona started. That being said some folks forget their camera is on. A weekly cadence has helped me stay in contact with my manager and what I am up to.
I noticed my previous manager had become even more micromanaging, so a number of us have either quit, or are looking for other jobs. In an outside sales role, other than lead activity, not a lot should have theoretically changed.
