Moms, I have a 2 year old and a 3 month old. Everyone on my family is vaccinated. What are safe activities to do with these kiddos in the midst of all this covid variant environment. I thought about the pumpkin patch, hiking, the park, and walks as long as we distance from others. I just get nervous about catching colds or a breakthrough covid infection. I’m not paranoid, just risk averse. The whole family got the TSV bug a month ago, and it was miserable. Just trying to be practical, but not a

Met with my boss today and was told “well you’re way better at your job than we expected...so keep doing that and just that. We might be able to have some more interesting work for you to do in 2-3 years”. Meanwhile...I am BORED TO TEARS!!!!!! And it’s tempting to quit, but I make more money than both of my parents combined EVER have, we had zero layoffs during COVID, and I really do love the people. At the end of the day...I guess I’m just hear to vent and to see if I’m the ONLY one.

But like the American network and find flights are consistently cheaper when I’m searching for personal travel. I normally get silver/gold status depending on the year. How many firms is too many? I’ve practiced 13 years. Since I was a 1st year associate, every 3 years or so I’ve been recruited for another opportunity that is hard to pass up. I’ve been at my current firm 3 years and got the call again, again about an opportunity that is hard to pass up. I don’t like having a reputation of a flight risk, but this keeps happening. Should I decline to pursue the opportunity just so I have a longer track record at my current firm? This will be my 4th if I move.

I am so grateful to have a job right now but I am really struggling. I’ve been at D for a little under a year and have been really unhappy with my experience. In particular, my current project and my direct supervisor make me feel unbelievably incompetent and under appreciated. Given COVID, there is little flexibility to roll off. I’ve tried to stick it through but I’m at a breaking point. Any suggestions on how to make the best of it? Or next steps?

The “Sunday Scaries” seem to b in full-effect 4 me right now. I like the firm I work 4 but I’m underpaid by at least $40k. I’ve been casually interviewing elsewhere the past few months but haven’t received any offers. I’m leading a team @ work of colleagues who’re more senior than me & having trouble seeing/understanding the next steps I should take. The “not knowing what to do next” makes me feel far less confident in my abilities & that I wouldn’t be able to “cut it” at another firm.

Partner appreciation post: I gave birth a few days ago and was feeling pretty ill yesterday (our first full day home from the hospital). Daddy took complete care of the baby and me, even helping me in and out of bed, feeding me, and helping me pull my maternity underwear up and down in the bathroom. He’s a rockstar!!

For those of you who are in-house, how did you get comfortable with needing to be more of a generalist? I know some in-house roles, especially at large companies, are specialized. However, even then it just seems like you’re expected to know about so many different areas (with far less support than at a firm). I’m tired of billable hours, but I really love (& feel more comfortable) being a specialist.
