Not a firm but my company sent an email last night (i know, checking my email on a Saturday, i have an addiction y'all) to remind us that our healthcare does work in other states, abortion is accessible under our plans in or out of state, and in some circumstances travel and meals can be covered as well (if it's deemed necessary for survival of the mother). They also announced office hours w hr to answer questions related to the roe v Wade overturning and how to access any resources we have through the company or our healthcare plans
Not a peep. Even my team hasn't acknowledged it literally at all.
As someone who has at various points attempted to use "expanded healthcare benefits," they're a total joke, extremely irritating to navigate and even small expenses take half a year or more based on how badly insurance jerks you around. And how exactly do you announce to HR that you intend to commit what might be a crime?
This is not real acknowledgement I think. It's a cop out. This is an extremely large sociopolitical issue and it feels weird to keep mostly silent about it.
My firm hasn’t done anything that I am aware of but (completely unrelated) we did get Juneteenth off this year as a holiday
GT sent out a message reminding us to be kind to those with different view points and reminding us to review our health coverage. Oh, and to remember to the EAP service. I wish they hadn't honestly. It felt like a check the box function and not at all about providing support for those who are about to lose access to certain health care options.
AS1, it isn't up to any of us to decide what is and isn't healthcare for another person. It is for a doctor and their patient to decide. Feel free to not seek those options since you don't agree and respect others choices.
My firm has a specific womens group and nothing out of any group or the firm
Good - many of us running the women's groups love all women....even the tiny ones that can't speak for themselves. Lets not kill them before they get a chance to break glass ceilings.
RSM sent a message saying they're not taking a stance for or against but reminded we have health care and gave the email to ask questions
It just happened on Friday… I’m pretty sure there’s more than one person who needs to make a decision on if they’re going to say something, what they’re going to say, etc…..
Wipfli scheduled an hour long meeting for Wednesday to discuss different viewpoints on the matter. But we also have off for a 6 day weekend after that. Great timing on that. I’m sure there will be a lot of vocal people
Smart firms will realize that is about as hot of a topic as there can be and not 'take a side.' Many of us actually value life...not only when its convenient. They should be careful in wording their support in a way that acknowledges it is a difficult topic without alienating anyone.
EY 3 - forced birth? Try forced death. You are very one-sided.
