How have people dealt with COVID and kids? I got COVID last week and had to keep baby home from daycare. Now they have COVID and have to stay home for at least another week. My husband barely worked last week and I can’t imagine another case week with a baby at home. I’m a C if that helps. I’m so overwhelmed and not sure what to do.

Take time off! I know the novelty of covid has worn off and employers are ready to forget about this chapter we are living, but taking sick time off when you or your child is sick is the better of the lot alternatives. I won’t say it’s the best solution because dealing with a sick baby when you are sick is really painful, but working along will be way more painful. I hope you and baby feel better soon.

This happened to me last week. I worked through last week but am taking this week off (sick days) to deal with kids. It’s what the days are for. Don’t feel guilty.

SOS! We brought home our second child a week ago and while my nearly 4 year old son has been nothing but completely loving and sweet to the baby he’s been throwing at least one epic tantrum (screaming, banging on his door, throwing toys in his room) for the past several days. He’s normally very mellow but just us saying no over the simplest thing sets him off.

Resources? Tantrum tactics that work for you? We’re at a loan

Supreme Court justices don’t have to share much about their health, but I have trouble believing she didn’t get COVID given all those who presented her seem to be testing positive. Would be hard to have hearings with her while she’s in isolation.

Is anyone else troubled by the amount of encouragement we get to binge drink to blow of stream? I know this is the Don Draper industry, but we don’t live in the 3 martini lunch era anymore. I have a really complicated relationship with alcohol, and while I don’t totally abstain at this point, it’s taken so much extra effort to keep myself in check during COVID times. I feel like I can’t be too open about my struggles with substance abuse or I’d risk the judgement of my peers/employer...

Hi All, Struggling with the following question, have seen several posts about it, but still not sure. Careers focused mid 30 (33f) here. Have had long term relationships but not in the last couple of years. Definitely want kid(s). Have a cat, also taking good care of my family / junior co-workers, so definitely know I have that trait.

How to proceed? Do you see the need to already freeze eggs or give it a bit more time (so far no issue with cycle)?

It’s that time of year for firms to consider attorney promotions. How has covid affected that? If someone’s hours or origination credit is lower, do you give some leeway and still consider them for promotion? Or is it “business is business” & you apply the same rules as in normal years? I’m curious how other firms are handling.
