Haha have u again worked hard the immediate year?

“God I really need to quit now I have this new title”

Haha. Good

Tbh, I worked really hard last year, got promoted, and I am still soaking in the feeling. It’s exhausting to put in more effort. May be I need a break.

Fried Frank reached out to me about an open senior real estate paralegal position they have in NY, and at first I wasn’t looking to move from my current firm, but then we talked salary (a nearly 50% raise) and now I’m willing to listen a little bit more. What are people’s thoughts on Fried Franks Real Estate team in NY?

How to push for promotion? I am doing much more and much better than peers at the level above me. Ie: level of hires, time to fill, number of hires, building partnerships with internal stakeholders. Being recognized by candidates, hiring managers, nominations for awards each quarter, winning a couple. Been in this role for 1 year, foot on the gas the whole time.

Have people received inflationary raises? My dad received a letter stating that they’re giving him a 6.5% raise + a one time lump sum of $750 bc of inflation, retroactive to July 1st. He works for a university and is part of a union. Kind of feel like my company is being shady because I work in CRE & we do raises + bonuses in February which was when I was planning to ask for an inflationary raise. But I feel like a lot of companies have done this without having their employees ask?

Everytime I think about work and how I can't even make a strong case for myself for a promotion I get upset. I'm literally pissed that I'm past a year mark and have yet to learn anything new since month 2. I've researched and taught myself as much as I could but many things are "learn on the job" type skills and so nothing. And yes, I've constantly asked throughout this entire year yet nothing has happened only promises that its coming soon or I'll be included in upcoming xyz.

Hi All, I’m a recruiter for a $4B 2,000+ employee construction commercial real estate company. I have 8 total years of construction recruiting experience and have been with my company for 5 years. In March of 23’, I’m due for a promotion to Sr. Recruiter/Talent Acquisition lead.I will have 3 recruiters reporting to me. Im currently at $80k base salary and am wondering what I should be looking for in my raise? Im based in Chicago and work fully remote. I am thinking I want $100k. Is that too low?

Does your firm provide an automatic raise each year of practice? Would you request for a raise if you have done exceptionally well and are paid below industry standards or is it just not the year to do so due to the pandemic?

I’m currently an AE and was offered a promotion to sales manager. I’ve been waiting for this next step but the offer only provides a 5% raise over what I currently make. We had several manger seats open and I know external people we hired received an offer atleast 20-30% more than I did.
I’m currently trying to negotiate but there doesn’t seem like there’s willingness to do so from our hiring team. Should I decline? Should I leave? Should I accept and start looking elsewhere?

I hit my one year at my company on the 15th of November. I had lunch with my boss on the 10th and he mentioned a raise but not how much or when it would be effective.

Flash forward to now, we’ve had 2 paychecks since then and I haven’t received anything. He said last week he would let me know this week, but I’m getting frustrated.

He’s raising my billing rate effective Jan. 1, and I’m worried I won’t get my raise until then. Anyone have something similar happen?

Any advice on best approach to a casual convo about upcoming raise if any with annual review around the corner? Would be helpful to know what they are thinking. Hi all! I’m an engineer working in the global health space and I’m finding it’s a small, small pool. I also just found out that a new hire (male, also an engineer) is the reason I got a raise after ~5 years of stagnancy. I love my job, but it’s time to move on. Anyone who’s worked in nonprofit spaces - did you stay? Did you switch to consulting/government/etc or go corporate? I’ve been applying without much response, and I’m debating whether a PMP very or masters is going to be necessary.

Need job advice:

I recently got an offer at a prestigious company making almost double what I make now (OTE). It is also a promotion on the job title which will help for long term career prospects.

The only downfall is I also have a final round interview with literally my dream job later this week.

The company who gave me the offer wants an answer before Thanksgiving. Do I take the good offer and run with it? Or do I roll the dice at the chance at my dream job?
