People that travel 80% or more: would you like to see consulting firms move to a new model of partial WFH post-COVID - one week on-site (at client or office), and one week off (WFH)? Why or why not?

After working a more normal schedule during COVID WFH, I cannot understand how I worked 60+ hour weeks for so long. I don’t think I can go back.

One of my good friends is not very cautious with her approach to COVID and it's made me pretty uncomfortable, so I recently decided I don't want to risk seeing her in person anymore. I thought I could just decline invites to meet up, but she's getting persistent. Is there a polite way to tell her the truth without coming off as judgmental? She can certainly make her own decisions; I just don't want to put myself at risk by meeting up.

I've been struggling since February to get my WFH setup in a way that works for me. I live in a 2br apartment with my partner so clearing the extra bedroom of distractions (we used it as a video and tabletop gaming room) was an easy choice. Unfortunately my productivity is much lower than it ever was at the office. I don't really get distracted at home, but I'm not getting as much done either. Anyone else still stuck like this? I left auditing for an accounting manager role. My company is in the medical device space and, in working on monthly close tasks, I notice that some sales people do very well. I know sales is more commission heavy, but part of me still thinks about the “what if” I was able to switch. In getting to know some salespeople, they seem to come from all types of backgrounds, from business to public health. I have limited knowledge in the medical space, but I’m willing to learn. Any advice? Drop it?
