How important is it to leave on good terms with your employer.

No matter what grudge you hold, never burn bridges. You never know when your lives cross same path again.

Oh yes.. it is. Most companies do have a rehire status that will ensure the reason and the circumstances of how you left the company. If it wasn't in good terms, the same will be noted in that part and in some cases may hamper future employment. In my personal experience, Amazon and Google does Dona background check, so that's important.

Never burn bridges.

Well, let's think about this, what would your employer say about you to your future employers? Always leave with class.

The world is smaller than you think, so to save your future self from your present self's actions, leave in goodwill. You burn bridges only if you're ready for the consequences that comes with it.

It's tempting to lash out depending on the situation but I've learned the hard way that the odds of you crossing paths with that person again are a lot bigger than you'd think. If a potential employer were to ask them about you, you want to be confident they'll give a positive response.

Thinking about leaving my current firm I’ve been at less than 4 months. I had an interview this week that went pretty well. I would be altering my practice area slightly into what I actually have been wanting to do my whole career. Thinking about what I’m going to say and how I’m going to do it when I leave and I’m SCARED. My biggest fear is disappointing people and having people think I’m useless and a failure. Do I leave or do I stay?

Hey 🐠 - I’m new to investing and would like to set up a robo-advisor account. My investment timeframe is ~5 years (I’m on a visa, so I don’t want all my savings tied to a retirement account). Do you have any brokerage recommendations? I am looking at Vanguard’s robo offering, but it seems to be very retirement-focused.

Thinking back to when I was in school. What do teachers have to do now that they didn't 20-30 years ago? What do they need to provide now that they did not have to provide back then? I don't recall buying anything than pencils/paper/folders. We covered our used books with newspaper or paper bags Classrooms were simple, not every inch of wall space was covered in charts, etc. The districts/teachers supplied nothing extra. What changed that teachers have to spend their own $ now?

Do you think gender ratios in this industry would change if HR / talent departments were more 50:50, than 99:1 or so?

Can someone please help me on how I can negotiate a higher salary, when a large component of my total compensation is linked to variable pay. I have cleared the final rounds of interview with a company, where the variable component is almost negligible and they're only willing to give a raise over my fixed compensation. PS The variable pay last year at my current firm was impacted due to onset of covid. :(
