How important is undergrad GPA for a "top notch" mba, like harbard or mit? I was a different person back then and only managed a 3.5 in an engineering program.

What can I do to make up, stellar GMAT, essay? What else if there's still a chance for me.

Harbard might okay a 3.5 but most likely not a typo

Scroll up and read the other threads. There are people who have gotten in with low 3's. Many schools say that GPA is not the end all, be all, because they are holistic about the applications. Also, 3.5 is not that bad…… unless you can't play up the rest of the elements of the application, especially your soft skills.

I went to MIT. Most important is your essay and your story. There are tons of people with good gpa, gmat, and who come from consulting. What sets you apart is your story. What drives you? What’s your ambition? What makes you curious? Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Think about the gap between your ambitions, interest and what you can do to bridge them. Volunteer, get staffed on a type of case, work for a non profit etc. it’s all about how present your story

like

Are you a URM? That helps.

@delloitte user 1. Haha, but thanks.

Sorry if snarky, but I would believe a 100% true unless you’re exceptional. But you’re a consultant... so most likely not 😝

@delloitte user 1, sorry "most likely not" for which q? 1. Gpa important(?) or 2. Do i have a chance(?)?

@booz allen user 1, thanks man!

With a gpa like that, advisory career, and gmat that falls in their average range, what can you do to set yourself apart ?

OP everyone has a chance. Better try and fail than to rule yourself out. Just catch those typos in the application 😝

@ey user 1, that's what im asking myself, and you guys here (essay, interview prep etc.). I haven't taken GMAT yet.

For example, a good GRE score in addition?
