Ok so for everyone who says they can work from home while watching their kids, they have built this for you. For $5500 it can be yours, compare that to the price of daycare! You’ll be saving money and the boss can’t see your kid on the webcam with this setup. https://www.demco.com/tmc-family-workstation

I was laid off during Deloitte‘s mass layoff in July of last year. I have worked as an independent contractor since and projects haven’t been consistent at the client I’m working for. I’m looking to get back into a big firm and was seeing if anyone would be able to refer me or help get my foot in the door. STAR method to explain what you did. But no I don't really see it standing out by itself in an MBA application. As Ac1 says boils down to the assignments and how you did. Coupled with the competitiveness of the MBA you are applying for.

This reply makes me think of the hype around design thinking which again is rewrap of agile and product management feedback looping. Happens with every field. Just gotta take the marketed glasses off.
I wouldn’t worry. Undergrad GPA and GMAT is what will get you through the door. Tons of people with non traditional backgrounds get an MBA from a top 20 program. All about how you sell yourself and your past accomplishment. Leadership/community opps you’ve had inside and outside of work is also a huge bonus.
