How is BCG conducting their hiring process for experienced hires remotely?

Feeling very down. Constantly applying to jobs, occasionally get noticed by recruiters, then just either ghosted or learn that the role has been filled before I even get to the first real interview. Really hoping something changes because I can’t do this anymore because consulting isn’t for me anymore.

Are consulting layoffs / hiring sprees a good way to gauge the "pulse" of the economy? Is a downturn near with all these layoffs we've been hearing about?
