Don’t have an answer to your direct question, but I hear the same w/ west Windsor schools in Princeton area, NJ. Too much competition is a code for too many Asians chasing those perfect credentials for Ivy League college admissions. It’s up to you and your kids to decide how much pressure you really want to take. If you go to less competitive district, will that help? May be. But then you will complain about not much competition. Finding a right balance between community & schools is hard
Dallas is filled with newly immigrated desis or desis who were not born here forcing their kids with rote memorization techniques that worked in India.
We wanted our kid to have a holistic education and decided not to settle there.
If I may, Where did you move to?

I saw this - I think it’s a school in Dallas, maybe something to consider before moving to a racist state?

I grew up in a suburb of Dallas that has a large Asian presence. Lots of desi families around, there are many different places of worship and desi events are always going on.
Schools are definitely extremely competitive in the area. The pros of this are that school funding is plentiful, teachers are all highly qualified, and students are motivated to grow and excel due to competition. Cons are that students will face a lot of pressure to perform, have a higher possibility of burnout, and “mediocre” students who may have been top students at other schools will have a weaker application.
There recently is news going around of an Indian student who was bullied in one of these Dallas schools. Based on my experience that level of harassment is truly an exception and far from the norm in Dallas suburbs.
