Everyone is doing very limited development jobs. Same in my case, except during the startup phase in the beginning of my career. JDs were all great later but when I join, the code I write is very limited. Is it same across all SDE jobs in India.? I hope it is specific to embedded. Should I be concerned.?

In interview I was asked questions about API testing( Rest Assured) repeatedly and even in JD it was mentioned.
I have hands-on Rest-Assured but no real work experience neither in framework.
My skills are Selenium, Cucumber, TestNg.
So when I join this new Company if they put me into API testing how will I manage.
Also thinking of learning in-depth in API testing.
But there is also a chance that I might not get API testing at all.
