How is everyone handling their personal staff during this time? Still having groundskeepers, kitchen staff, cleaning staff, nanny, trainer, chauffeur, etc or have put them on leave?

Well my staff is not as extensive as yours lol but I kept my housekeeper and lawn guy. The lawn guy doesn’t come inside and we have zero contact so didn’t see any issues there. I offered to pay my housekeeper half of her normal weekly rate if she didn’t want to come each week but she wanted to keep working as long as I was comfortable with it.

I decided to keep the UPS driver around. I’m still paying for all my package deliveries. I never see him, but I’m pretty sure he exists based on the tracking numbers and packages appearing. I’ve decided to let my grass grow it needs to be reseeded anyway and I’m cheap. I stopped hiring house cleaners years ago. I refuse to sleep with them and still pay. Seems like a gray area.

They’re all still employed: me

Had to put off hiring them until after the pandemic and I have millions of dollars.

Had to cut 10% off the polo instructor’s weekly schedule.

My wife and I actually had to take on more staff. Coronavirus thrives on materials such as plastic and fiberglass so I actually had to add a crew of cleaners to sanitize the yacht.

The nanny had just started sleeping with the trainer after breaking up with the chauffeur so this pandemic gave me a good excuse to cut that drama out of our lives.

I’m not sure why anyone has an issue sheltering. My pool guy is keeping my infinity edge Olympic pool in perfect order, the bartender keeps my drink full and the basement theater is still well staffed.

The trick is to have them all quarantined in your house so they never have (get) to leave

Still paying our cleaning lady as normal even though we’ve asked her not to come to the house right now. Figure if we can afford it normally and are still in the same position financially, why would we screw over the person who really needs this money?

As someone who makes pretty pixels for a living, this is thrilling.

Remote copy?

I thought I was the only one doing this, but I’m quarantining with my chauffeur, cleaning lady, and the person who squeezes the toothpaste out. I sent the chef home because I’m exploring with all sorts of vegetables from my organic garden.

funnylike

I think that person is called a squeezier, pronounced squeezy-YAY. It’s French.

I instructed my accountant to continue paying my staff prior to self-quarantining on my island 6 weeks ago, so I assume they are all OK.

I had them all cryogenically frozen and willed them to my next of kin.

We paid our nanny through the month of March and April even though we had her not come. She came back May 4

I’m letting my cleaning lady still come, the place gets dirtier than ever being here all the time. She cleans my office first then does the rest of the house so I don’t have any real interaction with her. But she wears a mask and gloves so I feel pretty safe and I know she appreciates the work as many of her clients have cancelled on her

We stopped bringing the cleaning ladies in but kept our lawn guys (same family) and are paying everybody. Don’t interact with lawn guys except to give them the checks. Our pool guy has also come a couple times.
