How is Fjord design studio from Accenture? I currently work at a good creative agency, but a recruiter messaged me and I am exploring my options due to more stability. Is the work interesting?

Been with Fjord since the acquisition and it’s been a fun ride. Upward mobility slows down around the manager/lead level, but if you’re coming in as an analyst or senior analyst, there’s plenty of room to learn and grow. The work is challenging and interesting enough, the people are usually passionate and driven (although I’ve heard this can vary by studio), and, if you’re open to it, you’ll learn a lot about service design, strategy, and implementation. And it’s still quite a bit differentiated from the typical Accenture consulting side, in culture and methods.

Definitely stick to agency for now. Faster/sharper creative work in agencies. also slower upward mobility at Fjord.

Wow if that’s true, I wanna stay far away from any place that is laying off people lol

See my response above to D1. I don’t think there’s anything to be concerned about, especially if you’re in the hiring process.

I am also 2 years out of college. Should I stick to my agency or make the more corporate move?

Even if they are offering 10 more grand on top of the salary I am making now? Plus my agency made layoffs which keeps people on their toes all the time. What do you think?

Starting MBB soon and would appreciate any recommendations on preparing myself for success on my first day? I’ve got a number of weeks until I start and will take some time off, but I’d also like to stay sharp and come in feeling confident. Any suggestions are welcome.

I graduated with my bachelor's in HRM and I'm wondering if there are any certifications or trainings I could do before I lock down on the SHRM-CP. I recently became HIPAA certified for my company and that got me thinking about what else I could do to add to my resume. Looking for good stepping stone certificates.

To all my SDRs/AEs/AMs/BDRs that are out there, I’m running an experiment that I’ve never seen before: Have you ever worked together with a teammate to close your company’s deals? I’m talking start to finish of sales process, from cold call to closed booking. I’m curious to know if folks always tackle calls by themselves, particularly intro calls, and beyond. Obviously there has to be a handoff at some point, but where is that inflection point? Trust is probably THE most important rapport

My husband and I have concert tickets to a big outdoor festival that was cancelled for covid and is now happening in late August. His brothers and some college friends are flying in to stay with us. We just found out we're pregnant and I'll be 9 weeks by concert time. We aren't ready to tell anyone but we can't think how we can ask them to cancel without explaining. We are all vaccinated and are in SF so cases are low, but not zero. Any advice?

Plan to go to B-school in 3 years (1 year out of UG now). Long term goal is entrepreneurship. Have offers at a MBB firm for a generalist consultant role and at FAANG for a strategy role. FAANG offer is slightly higher (though both are a 50+% bump on my current comp). Both would have me reset to entry level. Which one should I take?
