How is it okay for Asian nightclubs (Mission) to get away with not letting non-Asians in? Saying it’s “closed for private event” or contrived dress code to non-Asians

I'm a cashier. We just got a new manager, and she's making things really hard for us. She starts work at 4:30am and leaves around 2:30pm, but she still expects us to stay until 6pm and work on the weekends! She gives us really long shifts and doesn't give us much time for breaks. And when we ask her about it, she gets mad.

I'm worried that if I speak up, she'll make my life even harder. I don't want to lose my job because of this—do you guys have any advice?

Opposing Counsel refuses to acknowledge me in any emails, doesn’t answer my phone calls, and does not include my name on the signature line on any documents even though I am the handling attorney on this file. He only includes my supervising attorney and only responds to her. It’s so frustrating. Why are ppl like this?? What can I do? Should I continue to be annoying and email/call him?

I recently took a job with a top tier investment manager, which is a step up in title and responsibilities. I went through the typical “notice” conversations with my current employer. My boss, who was a significant supporter and mentor of me during my time at my current firm, told me that he doesn’t think my new firm is “long term” for me. My boss in my creative agency threatened to fire me because I, a male, came into work with my nails painted. HR is having a very complicated day today as I found out I could take legal action if he does fire me since we don't have an established dress code that has any guidelines against male nail polish wearing.

I joined a corporate firm as a multi year experienced paralegal. It seems however that I am not necessarily welcome by other paralegals in the Dept., a few negative comments to partners about me. Obtaining assignments feels much like a popularity contest. Any advice on overcoming the negative vibes? My fear is that there is a negative reflection about me and the managing partner doesn't seem open to me, even though I haven't had the opportunity to work for him or the others yet.
