Aurora sucks
Aurora is bad in general. Of course there are pockets that are fine - in the south in particular.
There are plenty of places that are outside the city, that are not aurora. I would look at other places first.
Whatever you do, visit and walk around before you sign - especially considering the feedback on this thread
The community is called “south shore” the videos make it look like a cult but some of the amenities seem amazing
Why move that direction and not towards mountains?
Aurora is pretty huge so it’s hard to generalize. There are some spanking new McMansion neighborhoods and there are ghettos and everything in between.
Never heard of that development/area, where specifically is it?
I live in DTC and that’s as far E / SE as I want to get, already takes 30+ minutes to get to 6th Ave West.
Aurora is huge. Going to be larger than Denver from a population perspective in the next few years. Some brand new developments and nice areas, but rough ones too. Do some good research and visit before you sign anything. May be worth asking on reddit, too.
I live in aurora near the Air Force base. I’ve never had any problems with anything being bad. Sure, it’s more diverse, but I would say it’s similar to being anywhere else, it’s just cheaper. My gf lives right near coors field and it takes me 25-35 to get there depending on traffic which to me is a non issue. Can also take the rail DT if I needed/wanted to. I’d say it would be a good move to save yourself money and get all the same amenities you’d want anyway. Probably more sqft too.
I’ve also had 2 brand new communities pop up within half a mile of me and in the 2 years I’ve owned the value has gone up 10%. Nothing crazy, sure, but good enough for me. Just had it appraised for refi.
