Juniors get a shot definitely. Just gotta be good and willing to chase the work. In my time here I've seen juniors get mad cool chances

I’m a junior creative at TBWA NY— I really like my team and the agency. As my time grows here I’ve been leading more projects and taking on more responsibilities. When I started off it was slow and did lots of grunt work.

The only downside is career growth/ path. Juniors tend to be underpaid and it takes a while to get promoted. My portfolio pieces could be better as well. The key is def make connections and try to get your name out there so people can include you on cool stuff.

Depends on which TBWA office. Chiat? MAL? Those are big shops with big names that will attract recruiters to your LinkedIn. As big shops you can get lost in the fold - You wont be handed the big briefs off the get go. Most likely starting smaller, social briefs and/or supporting bigger campaigns.

But a benefit to the big name shop is that people there would also have come from bigger shops that would might want to go to one day. So you have a lot of opportunity to learn from people who have done the kind of work you might be looking to do.

I’ve heard the work culture is good, but juniors aren’t quickly promoted and aren’t paid well.

This. It's 20 to 30k less which is ridiculous and they will gaslight you rather than spend the money to promote you. It's bad.

You’ll learn a lot learning from the “top”. I did some of the best work of my career there.

It's good to start but the salaries are 20 to 30k lower than other agencies and they will not promote you for at least a year. And even then you will still be making less than your counterparts at other agencies.

Not being promoted for at least a year is not unusual. Unless other agencies pay juniors 80/90..hard to believe tbwa is paying 30/40 so not sure what you're comparing to.
