How is the diversity in leadership, employees, etc… at the other consulting firms? I am at Deloitte (USDC) in FL and it’s primarily Indians.

Was at an event recently. Seems like advertising really only cares about diversity as it applies to white women. I think this industry wants to stay white.

What’s with everyone’s obsession with names and gender? I thought none of that was supposed to matter since we’re all humans and deserve fair treatment and respect. Why then name changing gender changing and the whole mix to remind you every time you address someone to think about their gender and they are referred to? Genuine question like I’m actually confused here

Dept goes to CCO concerned about company culture and the lack of respect and inclusion they experience. They want to brainstorm about how to change this. CCO states no one actually cares about compliance, defends the culture, and tells the team that they need to change or accept. CCO then gives team the cold shoulder/makes snarky comments in writing and verbally that team can’t require depts to “do stuff” and “endear” itself to them at the same time. Team is angry and bewildered. Contd.

Why are town Hall meetings so impersonal? They are all about awards / the number of people hired. I know FCB health is large, but we never hear from people who aren’t Executives. Last town hall, when discussing inclusion efforts, there were no people of color represented and one of the 4 pillars of diversity was centered around our “reputation as an organization” (that really rubbed me the wrong way). At my last agency those conversations were always led by people of color from every level.

After hearing of firms like Dentsu International and their diversity and inclusion efforts, I’ve contemplated doing a career pivot into advertising firms. I’ve worked in various other industries like Commercial Real Estate, Energy, Investment Banking, and Local Government within the realm of accounting, finance, and compliance. If possible, I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to work with you all in seeing if I'd match your open roles.

How to handle boss who discriminates. Recently got into a new role, I have faced blatant gender discrimination in the past and realize it is a bank wide issue. Details: I work with a male who has been here longer and trained me, he has one project all 8-5 hours- admits it’s not a full day of work, makes more than me and is higher rank. I have two projects, been here 2 months- apac emea and na hours so I’m working long days. Paid less, when i ask for help i don’t get responses- more below.

Really looking for a way to turn around a toxic building culture with staff to staff bullying, cliques/social isolation, hard feelings on big topics (racism, non acceptance of gender identity). Last year the staff polarized with the lead bully whom I helped leave. And the lead gossip (who was my secretary) that gained their sympathy and turned them against me. She also left. Now I need to regain trust and eliminate unacceptable teacher behaviors. Open to any and all advice.

I am a corporate recruiter in tech, and often get asked about what steps / processes the company has in place for equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

As a tech company and a startup, to be honest we do not look great on any of those fronts at the moment… and to be even more honest, is not the main priority for exec in our current phase.
