I posted about a week ago about having trouble finding a therapist with availability and getting responses from “in-network” providers. I got a recommendation to a provider that happened to be out of network. Here is the tip: If an out-of-network therapist is accepting insurance besides your plan, they may accept a “single case approval” from your insurance company. I have Aetna and the therapist I found suggested getting a “single case approval” which was approved and now she is in-network!

Hello there. HR (large hospital) contacted me with my new position’s salary offer. I would like to counter it. I did the math and they offered me exactly where my years of service fell on the salary range. With that being said, has anyone in healthcare at a hospital been able to negotiate based off merit, skills, certifications, etc. I know I got the job based off of those things, so why shouldn’t my salary reflect that?
