So I took a job as an environmental scientist back in private sector two months ago. All I do all day is write reports & keep our clients out of trouble with the Dept of Environmental Quality. It’s kind of boring. The lady I report to (she’s not really my boss. We have a small office 5 hrs away from main office, so we are more or less remote staff) is a typical boomer. Geologist from the 80s, and she’s the best of the best. Nice and eccentric—her husband got diagnosed with cancer the week (cont)

Looking for a new HR opportunity in the Madison, WI area, or remote work. Any leads out there? 19 years experience, SHRM-SCP certified. Tons of employee relations, talent development, benefits, payroll, experience! Still growing in comp administration, and enjoying aligning people strategies to organizational goals and objectives.
We know that sooner or later, most of the companies will start calling employees back in office to work.
Many of us find it easy to WFH/Remote. (Well many might like the opposite or hybrid and that's totally okay)
But If you were called by your employer and you convince that you can work better from home and agreed to extend or convert you to remote..!
Share Tips(😉)/insights on this (if it works or not to help out)
Thanks in advance. 🙂
I am a Family Nurse practitioner with years of clinical experience. I als have spent time working in: Quality Assurance for CMS surveys, Post Acute Care and Readmission prevention and teaching BSN programs. I would love to get into consulting in a WFH position. I have been working from home for 2 years and would like to stay home. Any leads would be appreciated.
If you are experienced at WFH, check on your friends who are experiencing this for the first time. They might not be ok. Remind them to take breaks, encourage them to get fresh air, etc.
I am looking for remote opportunities in SDET QA Automation. Please let me know if there are opportunities at your company!!!

I hope I don’t get hate for this. But I recently moved in with my partner and his elder cat, and I do NOT like her. I’ve interacted with her for two years but the dynamic seems to have shifted since we moved (I know cats don’t like moving).
I’m WFH and end up spending a ton of time with her. She occasionally purrs but mostly yells about everything and cries for my partner when he isn’t around. Even he admits that she is super difficult. I constantly read up on it but not sure how to deal?
Has anyone worked with Tiger analytics as Data scientist.
How is the firm in terms of work and the culture?
Do data scientist get a chance to travel to client side or is it wfh for now?

Can anyone suggest any particular jobs outside of call center positions? That’s all I seem to come across. I’d do almost anything instead of that. My goal to stay away from working in customer service. I’m completely burned out.

Seeking opportunities in NJ / NY or remote
I am working at 12 lpa, having one offer of 20lpa fixed (remote) from one US company. Having 5YOE in QA selenium uft capybara.
Should I continue looking for better offers?
If yes, what should be my expectations?
Also, say if I get another offer, will it be okay to say No to the previous offer? I mean they trusted me and gave more than expectation earlier.

I see roles a Deloitte about Infrastructure and Capital Projects in the Risk & Financial Advisory segment, I am wondering if these roles are more about construction management (cost, scheduling and reporting) or is it more towards projects finance and financial modeling, any insights?

I am having negotiations with a start up company, that i dont wish to join. Is it unethical to accept offer letter and then not join. The letter would help me in negotiations in other companies.
I’m looking to relocate to Seattle. Does anyone know if any of the Big 4 are still recruiting campus hires to start in Summer/Fall 2023? I’m open to either Audit or Tax, but I have internship experience in Tax.
I applied and received an offer at a Big 4 in San Francisco (campus hire), but I’ve decided Seattle is the better fit for me as it will be closer to my hometown and family in Vancouver.

Can someone please explain what type of life insurance I should be purchasing? I’m setting up life insurance trusts for my wife and me and now need to purchase the actual policies. We’re late 30s, 2 kids, lots of assets. I’ve spoken to 3 insurance brokers and they are all inconsistent in what we should be getting, so don’t know who is scamming us! Term life, whole life, universal, etc. Why isn’t this shit taught in like high school? Something so important shouldn’t be complicated to get right!

What’s with partners taking the line that in-house who gave us assignment/project/case doesn’t want to receive a list of documents/ info from outside counsel we need to assist with matter at the outset (after initial client contact, obviously)? Partners say “this is a lot to ask” or “they called us for help so we shouldn’t give them a to do list” or “just jump on a call and talk it out” or “they may not be the person who has this information”. Seems like everyone above 40 thinks this way.
Dads, how much parental leave did you take vs available? Lateraled in January and baby is due December. Firm offers 9 weeks for non primary caregiver for reference. I'd be inclined to "take it all" but a bit nervous about missing a ton of time with increasing economic uncertainty.

Cahill Gordon announced earlier today. Inappropriately only commended the efforts of mid-levels and senior associates in the email and noted they had to deal with challenging circumstances. They gave mid-levels and seniors above market bonuses. As if they partners couldn’t be clearer they want juniors to leave. Bye Felicia.
