How is the RTO policy for the ECVC firms - Cooley, Fenwick, etc.? Are these firms flexible with WFH?

Cooley will not mandate, but more people are starting to trickle in, SoCal, I could see culturally a cohort of people coming in a couple days but nothing mandatory

like

Interested in what you’ve heard too. I think the mandate is coming, but they’ve been elusive so far.

WSGR is 2 days a week in SD

A lot of the boutiques with ex-BigLaw ECVC folks are fully remote FWIW.

So I took a job as an environmental scientist back in private sector two months ago. All I do all day is write reports & keep our clients out of trouble with the Dept of Environmental Quality. It’s kind of boring. The lady I report to (she’s not really my boss. We have a small office 5 hrs away from main office, so we are more or less remote staff) is a typical boomer. Geologist from the 80s, and she’s the best of the best. Nice and eccentric—her husband got diagnosed with cancer the week (cont)

We know that sooner or later, most of the companies will start calling employees back in office to work.

Many of us find it easy to WFH/Remote. (Well many might like the opposite or hybrid and that's totally okay)

But If you were called by your employer and you convince that you can work better from home and agreed to extend or convert you to remote..!

Share Tips(😉)/insights on this (if it works or not to help out)

Thanks in advance. 🙂

If you are experienced at WFH, check on your friends who are experiencing this for the first time. They might not be ok. Remind them to take breaks, encourage them to get fresh air, etc.

I hope I don’t get hate for this. But I recently moved in with my partner and his elder cat, and I do NOT like her. I’ve interacted with her for two years but the dynamic seems to have shifted since we moved (I know cats don’t like moving).

I’m WFH and end up spending a ton of time with her. She occasionally purrs but mostly yells about everything and cries for my partner when he isn’t around. Even he admits that she is super difficult. I constantly read up on it but not sure how to deal?

Great Day All!

I am pivoting back into my previous career as an independent contractor and looking for a remote/work from home position to financially support myself.

Can anyone suggest any particular jobs outside of call center positions? That’s all I seem to come across. I’d do almost anything instead of that. My goal to stay away from working in customer service. I’m completely burned out.

Interested in entry level data entry, voice over gigs etc I am open to any advice and suggestions

Need suggestion!!

I am working at 12 lpa, having one offer of 20lpa fixed (remote) from one US company. Having 5YOE in QA selenium uft capybara.

Should I continue looking for better offers?
If yes, what should be my expectations?

Also, say if I get another offer, will it be okay to say No to the previous offer? I mean they trusted me and gave more than expectation earlier.

Can someone please explain what type of life insurance I should be purchasing? I’m setting up life insurance trusts for my wife and me and now need to purchase the actual policies. What’s with partners taking the line that in-house who gave us assignment/project/case doesn’t want to receive a list of documents/ info from outside counsel we need to assist with matter at the outset (after initial client contact, obviously)? Partners say “this is a lot to ask” or “they called us for help so we shouldn’t give them a to do list” or “just jump on a call and talk it out” or “they may not be the person who has this information”. Seems like everyone above 40 thinks this way.
