In my experience, boutiques have less WLB. They operate as startups and are more lean, meaning that you are often understaffed on projects wearing multiple hats. I found this to be great work experience but, despite what’s often advertised by recruiters, found myself working more hours.
I’ve worked at 2 boutiques that were sold to large SIs as well as 2 strategic SIs.

Depends on the boutique.
Have you worked at any boutique and how was your experience
I've worked at 2 boutiques, drastically different experiences. 1 walks the walk on healthy WLB, the other was full of shit. Trust glass door. You can tell which reviews AR written by HR.
It does depend on the boutique. I worked for one and worked long days and most Saturdays. But I know there are other ones that place a lot of focus on WLB. From what I have seen, the whole range is out there in terms of little to high intensity of work, and the salary typically reflects the workload.
