How is working and living in Paris for non French speaker working in IT role?

It is tough. French people are quite particular about the language because the more experienced are usually not comfortable speaking in English and even the young people, do not prefer it. Moreover, even their documents are in French. A non-French speaker will face difficulties in professional as well as personal (outside office) space.

It will give you good exposure but due to language problems, you will face challenges especially because people may not cooperate with you due to communication barrier. How long are you planning to move to Paris?
Sure, please dm me.

I'm in the last stage of the screening process for an Amazon AWS security engineer position. Due to the recent hiring freeze, I was given two options: - go through the last screening (5x1 hour interviews) and, if accepted, wait for a position to open. If not accepted I have to wait 1 to 2 years to apply again, as usual. - OR don't go through the screening and having to go through another screening process. Advices on what to do are welcome. Right now I'm more prone to go through the interview.

Kinda unique situation. I received an offer to return to the company I was with before b school (small professional services firm, not well known) after over a year in consulting post-MBA. The offer is for head of strategy and ops, same salary as my current salary (~200k), plus options and 25% bonus. I know the people there and like them a lot, and the role is interesting as they enter high growth mode and pivot to becoming more of a product company through M&A. My concern is (cont. in comments)

Hey all, transitioned from the military last spring and got a UX product manager position at a bank.

Pay is good, but missing the mission aspect of work. Have interview offers from Microsoft and Amazon for cleared PM work, but most of them are less product manager work and more adjacent program work.

This might just be grass is greener thinking, but would love to hear if you have made the transition if you enjoy cleared PM work or do you wish you stayed in the non-cleared space?

No reason for rejection, no personalized message, they didn’t even say they went with another candidate who is a better choice lol
