How is your company handling performance evaluation in a remote environment?
1) do you use a system?
2) when do your employees meet to discuss performance of their direct reports?
3) any tips?

We recently rolled out Paycom last year and it has been working really well for our performance reviews. We typically have a goal-setting meeting with the supervisors and each individual member of their teams. Once goals are set, we do a formal 6-month check-in and then an annual review.

Does anyone else constantly get mistaken for a nurse? I get it, I'm 5'4 and Black and work in pediatrics, but the assumption and casual racism is kind of ridiculous when the actual nurse has just told you that the doctor's coming and then I walk in the door. Doesn't really help when I'm one of the only Black on-call physicians. Annoying.

A few months ago I completed final rounds for a product role I was very interested in. Never heard back from them. Took a new position that is conducive to WFH/remote. I am thinking of reaching out to the team again because I would be interested to work with them post-covid. However I don’t respect that they didn’t give me a final answer after providing work product, meeting with teams—even to let me know they had chosen another candidate or weren’t moving forward with hiring.

Recently accepted a temp role as an HR admin for a former employer. Previously interned there & left because my supervisor did not have any growth opportunities planned out for me; this was in spite of my stellar performance, as reflected in my 90 day review. She has since left the company, but there’s crazy turnover in the company & in the HR department in particular. Just that an HR coordinator resigned.
