I don’t hate them. That’s enough for me.
My boss is pretty cool. I might consider hanging out with him outside of work, which is crazy given my experience with previous managers.
I feel the same way about mine right now too. I have never experienced this before so enjoying it while I have it!
Very hands off. Sometimes it’s frustrating that she doesn’t have a full handle on everything I do for the company, but most of the time it works to my advantage. I’d much rather this than a micro-manager.
My boss is an old co-worker - my IT guy then, actually, from 20 years ago before I boomeranged. We get along well.
Eh, nonexistent and very transactional
Completely hands off but isn't interested in career development. The general upper management seems to think we should work in the same role forever.
Might be time to move on.
I really have enjoyed my last two managers. One was super supportive and was a true advocate for me when I decided to leave AWS. My current manager gives me the freedom to do what I need to get the job done. Can’t beat that.
Love her!
Aww! And I mean that genuinely, not sarcastically : )
Rising Star
Not bad, a bit irregular. One second he seems to love me, the next I am not so sure. My internal ranking of my bosses puts him in the middle.
Pretty good
Excellent. Probably the best manager I’ve ever had. Really fun to travel with too (pre covid).
My boss is amaze
🤷🏽♂️
Pretty great. I’m very fortunate.
The best I've had to date in this industry.
He’s great! Super driven, helping me grow and learn, and is fun to be around. Significantly better than my last manager.
My manager makes me want to quit everyday.
Been there. Keep looking. Who you work with can make or break you.
Love them, he's always looking out for us making sure we're doing good, getting us what we need. Easily the best boss I've had in 18 years of software work.
I find the bosses I have open and trusting relationships are great...the others, I tend to not work for very long.
It's fantastic -- he's aware of his faults and I'm able to help offset some of them, it works out pretty well. Fwiw, it took us years to get there.
Last manager was a colleague I had worked with in the same roles for 7 years advancing together and someone I considered a friend (still do) but I only lasted a year 'under' him before moving to the company I'm with now. New manager is Director of my current department and I have a great relationship with him, partly because we do have a laugh together during work but mainly because he fully recognises my contribution, lets me work autonomously and actually brings some incredibly valuable teachings that I absolutely believe have helped me grow in the 9 months I've been here - something I was almost subconsciously craving at the last place for so long in hindsight. He's also made it possible through that recognition for me to have been promoted twice in that time with considerable pay hikes....but it's the knowledge and experience from him that I'm most grateful for.
