Hi I currently working as an Underwriting Associate been in the this role for 6 months now. I am thinking ahead on my Career Path as an underwriter. When is the right time to pursue promotion. I love the team I’m on but it does not seem to any promotional opportunities anytime soon. I have goals to move up in the corporate ladder to a leadership position. Hi folks, It's been 22 days since I joined birlasoft. But still I have not been mapped to any project and in induction I have been told this hiring is done based on an already existing requirement. -Delegate even more than before.
-Start to spend even more time on your relationships, both internal (product teams, industry coverage, etc) and external (lawyers, wealth managers, consultants, etc), so you can actually source.
-Start looking for speaking/publishing opportunities if you have an area of expertise or niche focus.
-Toastmasters - a lot of you nerds aren’t all that great at public speaking.
-Now you really need to spend time with a mentor you trust and knows the politics of the office so you can start to join those games.

Am transitioning myself here and one thing I found practically helpful is to give more and more execution to juniors (still remain in the picture but let them drive) which assuming similar work intensity overall inevitably will give you more time to think about biz development which is actually what you will be paid for
